I'm supposed to get my headers installed on Tuesday but the the installer mentioned another forum member having to have two headers replaced for cracks. Anyone else having problems?

Not that i have ever read on here. My guess is that they were referring to OEM headers. Those are definitely prone to cracks and causing a ticking noise until they have heated up and expanded to close the hairline crack. I haven't read of a single case on here of people having DT headers crack.

25k on my DT headers, no cracks and still one of the best investments Ive made to the 100.

Check out the 3 or so DT Group Buy threads, I think one guy had issues with them cracking on the first group buy run they made, DT replaced them no Qs asked. IIRC, they had changed the material of the headers due to some heat problems with some other models of headers. All in all,the 100 series headers have been a great performance addition:meh:

edit: Here's the one guy that I could find in a quick search that had one of his headers crack at the Y

Just want to confirm the above. I read about this too. Pretty sure it was the 1st run. Which reminds me... I need to have mine installed.

You and me both brother, I think I'll have my DT Cat Back in hand before I actually get the headers on:grinpimp:

After much waiting and back n forth email they final sent two sets out. The second set was to cover the cost of the install as their header were defective so I should not have to pay twice to have their product on my vehicle.

19 mos & 27,500 miles on my first-run set - no problems.

Roughly 18k and no problems... And better not be for as painful as they were to install.

I had my 1st run DT header replace due to small crack. Nick is super nice and set me up with a third run (Stainless Steel) set without any question. Since then I put 15K miles on this new set, and without any issue. Just because I have such good experience, I also bought their 1st set of exhaust!

Contact Nick at DT and see what he says:meh:

I have a first run set (still sitting on the shelf in the garage) and did talk to Nick about it... after speaking with him I have no issues with moving forward with the install when I get the chance. Besides, 'if' any issue should arise, I have no doubt DT will take care of it without a fuss.

I bought mine in Spring 2012. Installed in September. They have been running smoothly for 6,000km (oh 4,000 miles...my appologies).

I'd recommend retorquing them after the first 500km though.

I am looking to buy one. Any one selling? How much is the performance gain.

The 100 series was a completely new venture for us. While we did do product testing...It was impossible to test the headers for 10k or even 2k. As soon as we header about the cracking issue(which was less then a handful) we IMMEDIATELY remedied the situation by switching from ceramic coated HEAVY 14 gauge mild steel to ceramic coated 14 ga 304 stainless. We stepped up and swapped the few that had the issues with the new version which is the best of the best. While it was only a few we stood behind them and will continue to stand behind all of our DT products.

Thanks!
Nick

Thanks Nick:
I am running your headers and catback, and they are well made and sound great. Also wanted to compliment you on your great customer service skills.
