Has anyone had this happen? I have never disconnected my drl's and this morning they stopped working. All other light functions work.
Are the drl light bulbs separate from normal headlights or did they both burn out at the same time?

The DRL use the same bulbs as the high beam headlights (underdriven).

Do your high beams work?

Have you swapped out the high beam bulbs for some fancy shmancy LED/HID bulbs ?

When your headlight bulb filament burns out the DRL's will not work. Like jlb stated if your DRL's quit working you most likely have a burned out headlight bulb.

Thank you for the info. I have one high beam light working. If it works on high, why not low? I have only used OEM replaced bulbs in the past.
In DRL mode I believe the bulbs are in series to get 1/2 voltage (across each filament) for 1/4 power so if one filament blows you get nothing. In normal high beam the bulbs are in parallel for full battery potential and power.

All ^that^ may be true... but the DRLs can stop working with the headlights functioning fine - high and low beams. Everything on mine is working great - except the DRLs. They just went away a while back.

Yea, I have mine turned off via the body ecu so if yours just "went out" I'd suspect the DRL relay - there maybe/probably is difference between MY wiring so one solution may not fit all.
OP had one lamp out under one condition and both out under another condition and was looking for an explanation - which is series v parallel ccts.

@PADDO - that makes sense. I actually missed the OP's second post "one light out". I'd love to be able to confirm if it's the DRL relay, but that'd require me to A. want the DRLs back on and B. chase down the problem. I'm good with them in their current state ;)

PADDO, Thank you for the "in series" explanation. Totally makes sense, after the sun came up, further inspection revealed that the bulb is broken in the lens cover, leading to the one high beam and no DRL's

BTW, the DRL relay is right next to the airfilter box, mounted on the frame.

Thanks for your post. I just noticed my DRLs stopped working. High and low beam headlights are working fine. I will check the DRL relay.

Ok, school me on how to check if the relay is working.

The DRLs stopped working shortly after I installed new high beam bulbs.

Hoping someone can help out here.

Need some edumacation on testing DRL . . .

Please . . . pretty please?
