Driver's Door Help (1 Viewer)

As much as i liked watching Dukes of Hazzard growing up it has become difficult to re-enact the window entry into the car at my age. Alas, my driver's door will not open.

Symptoms:
door will lock fully with interior lock switch
door will lock fully with key from the exterior
interior and exterior door handles will pull to full extension with no result
interior lock switch and using key externally results in unlock to only 3/4 of the way. so, key won't turn fully to unlock and interior lock tab does not rotate fully.
All other doors work fine.

I've used a jimmy stick to no avail. i can get the handle to fully extend.
pushing down further on the linkage did not help either
searching on forum did not help
getting the door panel off would be fun in this position i'm sure

Sounds like you have "door gremlins"
Suggestion: have you disassembled the driver door handle? I would start there from what you are describing......I'm in TN but when I get back will be glad to come over and hold your beer and watch you either make things better or make things worse.......I'm also good for providing words of encouragement but with little to no experience to back it up!
Also check your warranty!

Thanks. Got the door open by observing how the passenger door operated. Panel is off but door is still not unlocking correctly. Taking it to the fine folks Trollhole’s tomorrow for a little help.

This curved piece at the end of the arrow does not go all the way back to allow for full unlock.

For future reference, the driver seat can be unbolted and moved backward to allow access to the door panel. It won't be comfortable to get the front two bolts out, but it can be done. Not that it guarantees anything...
