That's good to know Evan. I'll keep that in mind if I get more adventuresome with these. For now, I was motivated as much by the need to get some custom relay rods made up for the 40 and 55 series running the Scout type ps conversion.

IIR, I will get thread specs from you at the meeting.;)
 
Got the prototype in today! Looks like a good match up for length, and accepts standard FJ40-type metric tie rod ends. Should have the rest of the batch in next week.

Kevin, I can see doing the upgrade on the main steering rod [tire to tire] but I would NOT upgrade the relay rod or the drag link with PS and a stock center arm.

Why? Do you think it would make the center arm fail or something if you have power steering?

I have seen stock center arms fail before, and if I had a choice in determining what would be the weak link { I wrote an article on this very subject for TT a few years back] I'd rather see a relay rod bend than a center arm fail.
