Looks like you're going to have to take that H55 top cover off so you can fix the 5th gear shift fork!

Yeah, it was a temp fitment to look "where things are" as far as shifters go. The trans shifter is going o have to be bent significantly I'm afraid :(

The trans shifter has a rubber insulator in it, so be careful heating it up to bend.

Got the rear perches placed, pinion angle set (taking into account the chassis is sitting high w/o the body on).

Quick question - anyone ever use the front or rear holes on these "3-hole" perches? Reason I ask:

1: Who doesn't want an extra 1/2" ..... of wheelbase (get your mind out of the gutter @jfz80) :D
2: My existing rear driveshaft has about 1" left before it is too short with this setup. I don't get much driveshaft compression in the rear, but moving the axle back an extra 1/2" would be good insurance against it bottoming it out. The suspension will be fully cycled to ensure I don't ruin this spensive transfer case!

Huge thanks to Johnny C!!! He and I somehow manage to get the tub/rollcage/hardtop on the trailer last night. He gave up like 8 hours of his time on a "school night" to help me get this from my Mom's house in Pilot Mountain so I can get it to the blaster tomorrow.

Just adding a couple of photos / updates to my thread:

Tub has been sandblasted...

Primed with 2 coats of Rust Bullet Automotive....

2 Coats of Lizard Skin ceramic insulation...

And started covering all that with OE Dune Beige single stage acrylic, but then ran out of paint way shy of completion :(

Hoping to get more paint on her and out of my driveway this week - ideally onto the chassis :D

I didn't realize that you ran out of the topcoat! Thought you ran out of one of the base layers for some reason.

You're almost there!!

Got a coat on the full undercarriage. Doesn't look great, but the purpose is to protect the lizard skin and have a harder surface for mud/grease to release from. More coats would have been the ticket, but not going to take the time or money for something rarely on display (hopefully) The d.s. fender well was impossible to get the gun to. I'll deal with that later :)

Hoping and praying to get the tub back on the chassis this week!!

Couldn't stand it. Had to run to Finishmaster, get more reduce and lay another coat. Much better, but far from perfect:

It will dry darker. Got a couple folks lined up for tomorrow afternoon and the hoist is here. Hopefully the tub ill be married to the chassis for the last time of my lifetime... at least until I get a shop with a lift or chain hoist :D

To0 tired to type much, but much thanks to Jerry, Tim, and of course Johnny C!

Got about 80% through the wiring today. No more rat's nest. I will be finishing it all off with some braided wire looming. Since the mechanical linkage for the throttle goes away, I've utilized that hole in the firewall and boot for my ECU->Relay panel wire bundle.

That will terminate at the relay panel which is now located on the lower d.s. firewall:

Then I repurposed a panel I had made for some propane components as a "cover" for all the wiring and relay panel (it will be painted):

Finally, the ECU goes in the glove box:

More to come tomorrow, but I've started trying to figure out the roll cage / seat cradle clearance of the gas tank. Will she make CCLR????
