see now, ambi doors look cool cause were not used to them, but i prefer the functional tailgate and i really like the way rolling the window down promotes a nice flow of air with virtually no wind noise.

I have an Aussie-import 55 that is RHD and I have the fold down tailgate with a hand-crank window. I think I'd rather have the ambulance doors. loved having them on my old 40.

any one else notice the H41 trans?

nice ride, north or south island?

Never seen the amby doors. looks likes its in good condition!! congrats!

Welcome! :pig:

shes in the north island, residing in the small shed you can see behind it,its stored an hour and a half away at my father in laws farm, just took those pics in the weekend, chucked a fresh battery in her and she started after about 8 revolutions!! was 8 months since i last had it going, shes got a few spots of rust around but nothing major EXCEPT the drip rails!! I bogged up one side and put new steel in the other!!! she`ll do for now!!
I contacted Toyota New Zealand a month back and asked them how many 55`s came downunder, and he told me after some research that they were never sold new here by toyota!? he reckoned they were imported from australia for use by the goverment and not for private use?? I have taken it out but it also has a third row of seats!! and the second row has a tilt forward seat on the passenger side, for access to the third row, sorry i dont have a pic of it but it looks original:)

If you could get a pic of the second and third row seats it would be much appreciated. I'm trying to do this to my '72 and looking for ideas, especially for folding of the passenger seat.
