Like everybody else, I ordered the JCW door weatherstrip that snaps onto the door frame. The foam is too thick and causes problems on one of my doors.

McMaster-Carr has all the edge weatherseals in tons of sizes

Styles 2 & 3 look great.

This is the PDF for that catalog page. I am thinking style 3 is the better one. The keeper hooks are on the rubber side, which might do better with the door closing against it.

Do you know the measurements we'd need Nat? (A/B/C thicknesses?)

The edge thickness I neeed to measure on my rig. I suspect the 1/4" is the right size. I hope it isn't bigger than that

The "A" dimension is the most useful I think. The rubber has sizes from 3/8" to 3/4" which I think will be useful for various doors.

I don't know how the rest of the rigs are, but my doors fit a little different all around. There is a little different gap which different sizes could accomodate.

I'm guessing the JCW stuff was 3/4" then?

I need to get this stuff....

Also, I'm guessing we need about 15 feet per door? so 60 feet total? might as well order a hundy and mud-bay the extra I guess.

My truck has both?!?!

There is rubber on the door AND there is rubber on the door jamb.

I just looked at my weatherstripping yesterday, and I need new for all of my doors. I will be keeping an eye on this thread to see how this works for people. Doc could you keep us posted if you go this route.

Sure thing.

I can feel the draft through my drivers door- so I'm highly motivated to get my weather stip fixed so I can take it to the desert, otherwise I'll be "Mr. Dusty" by the time I get home.

Has anyone ordered this yet? I plan on ordering some in the next couple of days. I am planning to order style 3 1120A233. My ghetto measurements come out to about 11-12' per door. I am planning to order 100', so I hope to use less than 50' on my truck and selling the rest. The measurements I came up with were 1/8" edge, A=1/2", B=5/8", C=1". If anyone sees a problem with my measurements please let me know. My old weatherstripping is very compressed and falling apart.

I had other priorities pop up, but if you do order this stuff, and it does work for you- I have dibs on the left overs!

No problem, I just hope 50' is enough for the 4 doors.

Got the weatherstripping yesterday, I put a 6-8" section on and closed the door. I think this is going to work great. Doc do you want 50'?

So just to clarify, Sno Bored, what size did you end up ordering. Thanks

I will try to post up a picture of what it looks like on the truck soon.

So are people not buying the Specter weatherstripping because it's too expensive, or because it doesn't work well?

In a related question, has anyone found anything that works for the inner and outer felt squeege on the roll up windows? It's straight and flat, so it seems like it shouldn't be to hard to press something else into service.

Geof

I just ordered part number 75 0634, Ref as1264 from precision Precision Replacement Parts - Welcome. It is the exact replacement from what was in my pig. Not sure if it can be bought unless you have an account. I work for a glass company so I get to order from them...

Also on a side note for everybody. I got the door seals from an FJ60 and it worked awesome for the door weatherseal. Not the channel on the pinch weld that sno bored found.
