Black plastic molding covering the stainless door trim is peeling up. Anyone removed the plastic and painted the stainless? If so what’s the best way to removed plastic?

You can replace it, AFAIK they are still available.

Do you know the correct name so I can search?

Belt molding

@ranma21 sells them on here for the best price I could find. If you decide to paint yours don’t take them off. Just tape up everything and paint them on the truck. The clips are brittle after 20 + years and they will break. Don’t ask me how I know.

So the black rubber/plastic on the moulding is just cosmetic?

If so, that's great. One less non-essential thing not needed to do this year.

Did you just remove the peeling black plastic and leave it? Mine is going the same. I would prefer to just remove it all and not have to mess with it again.

Yes I cut off the black plastic, looks like regular chrome style trim now
