Don't know if anyone else has had this issue but shot in the dark.

Drivers door key unlock - unlocks the whole truck as per usual.
Drivers door key lock - ONLY locks the drivers side door. In the past it locked ALL doors.

Would that be the latch/motor assembly that needs to be replaced?

The lock/unlock button works just fine and I can lock and unlock all my doors with it. It is only locking with the key that the issue comes up. Really annoying.

@blkprj80 you mean the lock part of the switch is suspected to be broken.
Drivers door with the key unlocks everything. Key locking only locks the drivers door....

figure that's the culprit

Atleast it's your fav colour

@BCR4619 real men like pink.
Its an expensive little prick too...

Mangenta ;)

Ask @70sguy if he has any kicking around?

I know mine from time to time won't lock all the doors... But it usually does after a second try

@ForealBoreal I don't know about the 24V units, but my EWD for a 12V unit shows that both key LOCK switches connect to the same pin, a green wire with a red stripe. Either switch (driver or passenger) pulls this wire to ground to make it lock all doors.

Does the passenger key lock all the doors? If it does, that module probably isn't the problem.

The inside lock button on either door panel connects to a different wire. The difference seems to be some "security" function inside the Door Lock Control Relay.

Does anyone have a EWD from a 1996 HZJ77 they could take a shot of the Door Lock Control page and post it?

The passenger key does not lock all the doors, it never has.

I replaced the door control box ($250 later) and no difference and still tracking down the problem.
I am stuck at this point and I guess I will have to start tracing wires and grounds.

My passanger door does both lock and unlock and my driver side does only lock.....most of the time. I found if I turn the key to the unlock position and then let off a bit and turn again a couple of times it usually works. My driver door didn't do either when I first bought the vehicle, over time I have gained functionality back. Sounds like the lock assembly itself is to blame just like mine.

I would check all the plug connections in the kick panels for coming loose or grounding issues before I would be coughing up another $250.

for anyone that was curious on the results of this I changed the hasp mechanism in the door and it fixed the issue.
Ask away if you are confused I'll try and help out as best as I can.
