Hey yall,

I had an idea to install a forward (meaning, up towards the windshield and rearview mirror) dome light. Any one have experience with this? Any kits out there?

My main priority is that the dome light can be a red light (like police cruisers) Anything out there like this?

The 2nd issue that I can not find a dome light replacement for a 60 series. I can find the rear dome lights, but nothing for the mid section light. Mine is missing the little "flap" used for switching light settings.

Middle dome light assembly which includes everything is still available from Toyota. Swap in a LED bulb and it’s nice & bright.
(LED bulb shown below). Got mine at superbrightleds.com

The sites "fit check" system, is saying that it wont fit a '83 60?

This LED bulb will work in it (they say)

This is another option and you'll be buying from Cruiser people

Somebody recently posted an OEM solution - possibly from a 70 Series where a integrated light and rear view mirror were adapted for a 60. Did anyone else see that?

I guess running wiring under the headliner would be a pain but it’s doable.
