It's an instinctual behavior just like sniffing turds. Sniffing another dog's turd allows the dog to identify the depositing individual. Sniffing its own turd gives the dog info about its health.
Dogs will eat turds to reabsorb nutrients that may be difficult to metabolize or lacking in their diets.
When I was a kid, my mom's Shi-Tzu used to eat his turds. He would let them age a week or two and then go back for a Scooby snack.
He would come back into the house all proud of himself like nobody knew about his secret s*** fetish. However, the little s*** morsels hanging from his chops always gave him away.

go outside when she eats one with her, and start the shaming. Rub a s*** in face, and verbally abuse her. Say "bad" many times when you give her a hard time about it. Do it often, or anytime you think she may. It might make her think its bad, and should not be done.
Also you could leave a few in there and spray some bitters on them, they make a pet spray to prevent licking and such. Maybe you can leave half a dozen turds in there and spray this on them. Also after a she takes a s***, go out and spray it. Might help change her behavour on the issue.
I would also try changing her food. Also make food available more often. If she is the kind of Lab(and most seem to be) that gorge when they eat(eat fast and all of the food infront of them) then maybe she is still hungry.
My dog gets a huge bowl everyday and he can take his time to eat it. I only refill the bowl when he finishes it.
I don't like kennels that train a dog to eat fast and then take away the bowl. I would rather a dog know there food is there and is always going to be there, so they don't feel they need to wolf it down.

I've heard meat tenderizer works - I didn't use it because it has a lot of salt. Powdered garlic in my weim's food did the trick.
So it always grosses me out when I see a person let a dog kiss them on the lips. having anus and feces all over my mouth doesn't interest me .....

Same problem here, prefer's frozen... dog has since been nicknamed "the Turd Burgler"....

Meat tenderizer is usually papain, an enzyme found naturally in pineapple, fresh pineapple. That's why you can't make Jello with fresh pineapple, just canned. Evidently the heat denatures it. I don't know why it would have a lot of salt in it unless there is a plain vs seasoned type.

My dog likes his food so much, he eats it twice.
Other than the bad breath, it doesn't really bother me too much. Kind of a dog thing. I usually tell him to quit eating it when I see him, then give him a treat when he stops. Partly for obeying, but also to help with the bad breath. I don't want to think about how much of it he eats when I'm not looking.

Yeah...but usually it is runny soupy s***ola the second time out...in other words NOT fun to clean up...much less think about.
