So asking the 70 experts if Toyota ever made a 70 series Troopy with left hand drive and 1GR-FE gas(petrol) engine? And if so what countries have them? Thanks everyone.

Yes, available in Europe. But, vehicles are imported from the UAE.

Pretty sure they would have been available in mid east.

FYI, I think that engine was introduced in 2005 and wasn't used in Land Cruisers until the 2010s, so a good while off for importation if so.

Gotta ask, why that engine? Seems like my last choice for a newer Land Cruiser.

Hello,

I am late to the party.

Yes, they exist. The 1GR engine replaced the 1FZ around 2009 - 2010.

The GRJ78 is available in the Middle East and some select markets. It is mated to the H150F transmission, and it is rated at 238 HP.

Thanks everyone. So yes was made with this engine and a 5 speed manual? Why this engine someone asked? Well dont want a diesel and 1GR-FE is pretty darn bombproof and long lasting👍

And parts for it readily available here in good old USA. Can they be imported from Europe or just UAE after 25 years?

Not a big fan of the 70 series Troopy but I would have brought this puppy home in a heartbeat.

Yep Clarke “that sir is a beaut”! Not a Prado, right? I have heard they are the “light” version of the Landcruiser

It’s not a Prado. The Prado and the Land Cruiser went different paths in the late 1990’s and they don’t share anything after that. Don’t even look similar.

Cheers

Also nothing wrong with the 1GR. It is the successor to the 5vz which is an excellent v6. The 1GR is also an excellent v6. It has been in Tacomas, 4Runners and FJ Cruisers since 2005. It has proven to be reliable.

With a super charger on it it also has lots of power.

I am personally not a big fan of v6 engines but there is nothing wrong with the 1GR, it’s a good engine.

Cheers
