On a separate note, i do prefer SOMETHING on the side whether it be running boards or sliders. The bare look without running boards just does not look right. Then looking on the side, you see the frame, which i understand is good for clearance of the body. OK on a Jeep i guess, but on a $90k SUV, the frame needs to be covered up on the side with sliders (or running boards).
With the HE costing MORE than non-HE LC, why can't Toyota with the HE just add some sort of rock sliders or rocker panel protection straight from factory like what Jeep does with the Rubicon??? That would be sweet to have from factory.........without having to deal with moving KDSS tubing around etc..
So far, let me get this straight........you are paying more for HE for the shadow grille, nice set of forged BBS rims, Yakima basket, all-weather floor mats, slightly more center console storage (without cool box), and special (awesome looking) logos.
You LOSE: semi-aniline high end leather (big deal IMHO), 3rd row, running boards, and very functional cool box.
