Does anyone know when the 2020 Heritage Edition will actually hit dealers?

Looks great. I put the same tires on my new LC. Same wheels but in black. Put spacers on both front and back. 2” lift. I went with the lightning bolts out instead. Such important life decisions.
Hah ! I spent far too long deciding Lightning Bolts or Blades.

Picking up mine now. Went with the General grabber ATX 285/60/18.

I just want to say Toyota copied my cheap Yakima MegaWarrior roof rack I had on my rig. That is all.

So the height of the Heritage with the Yakima Roof Rack is just a shade over 7ft especially with the rear end sitting a little high.

Wife wanted to keep the rack on. But we have a 7ft garage door and can't get the LC in the garage!!! Why didn't Toyota think of this? It is SOOO close to fitting in a standard height garage door.

Perhaps that is why they advertised a slightly larger tire on the website (285-65-18) but ended up going with a 285-60-18.....

So it's off.

Buy a bigger garage door. :)

I went with 10'w x 8'h garage doors in this house, and sometimes wish I had even more clearance.

I'm pretty sure 285/65 was a typo. Those tires aren't available in a p-metric which toyota likes to run for the lower pressure, compliance (ride quality), and especially mileage. Plus all of their odometer/speedometer/gearing calibration would be based on a given revolution per mile and they are unlikely to want to change all of this for a tire that will perform worse under the vast majority of american driving circumstances.

Either way.. can someone with a new heritage on stock suspension get a solid suspension measurement to compare to a stock non HE 2019/2020? Something like distance from rear bump stop to axle tube on level ground? I won't be buying a HE but I'm curious how much of this rear ride height difference is just perception (running boards) vs reality (lack of seats, possibly different rear springs, etc)

Yes, at my 2nd home, we have the 8ft doors.... at my primary house, not so lucky.

Here’s the deal. I was dying to get a Heritage until I really thought about it. Realistically, the Heritage is a stripped version of the regular LC base in the end. No semi aniline leather seats. No cool box. No third row. The only “nicer” things are darkened headlights, a different grill, and neat looking wheels. Don’t get me wrong, I love them. But it’s insane they cost $2k more than a regular LC for less stuff.

Its just kind of ironic. The LX two row also comes with the non semi anilene leather and no coolbox and no third row. It’s substantially cheaper than a Heritage and sure as heck doesn’t cost more than a regular 3row LX. But it doesn’t have bronze wheels or a TLC badge on it.

All of that being said, the Heritage is indeed bad @sa and unique. Not saying it’s not and not knocking it. Just crazy Toyota is charging more for it. I’m not saying dealers. Of course they should due to demand. But it has to cost Toyota less than a regular LC and they charge more on MSRP. Good business.

Toyota is taking a page right out of the Porsche playbook on this one!

If anyone's wondering, Toyota of Bellevue (in WA state) has a heritage edition for sale. Midnight black on black leather.

MSRP of $89k.
In my recent hunt, there were multiple dealers in the NW part of the country who had listed HEs on their websites without actually having them in inventory. Perhaps later in the year supply will increase, but they seem pretty scarce on the ground. Several dealers had HEs listed on their website that had been reserved for the dealership owners.

I don't see why these being more expensive is so hard to understand. Toyota can charge more and (clearly) still move them, so they do. Period.

It's up to the buyer to decide whether the extra money for the badge and wheels and lack of other features is worth it.

My guess is that by mid of next year, there will be HE’s sitting on the lot. Regular LCs are slow movers...sitting for months and months on the lot. The first HE shipments will be bought by enthusiasts but then who buys one? Yes, they are limited production but i don’t see it being bought much other than enthusiasts on this forum.

I guess we'll see.

Toyota is pretty smart when it comes to selling vehicles. As few landcruisers as they move per year, you still don't often see deep discounts. That said, numbers/content sells, and I guarantee dnh1 won't be the only person put off by the lack of coolbox and other small stuff.

Its not “hard to understand.” I did graduate from middle school. It’s just funny to me that they are getting away with it.

Not sure about your area, but the dealers around my city are discounting 2019 LCs down to $78k without much effort. I got my 2019 last month for that price. I think that i could have gotten down to $77k or $76,500 if i had gotten one that sat on the lot longer (black / terra). That one has been on the lot for over 9 months! If you play hardball, then probably $75k is not impossible.

Mine was 2 months old and color combo that i wanted......and i did negotiate a few others accessories into my price.

I for one only became interested in the land cruiser when I saw the 2020 heritage marketing materials. I then test drove a 2019, ordered and bought a heritage.

I'm not sure I'd own a land cruiser if not for the heritage. I have been a loyal Toyota consumer for years however.
