Curious where you guys are sitting ground to frame and what lift and tire size combo you have. Anyone have ground to frame (to the rear of the vehicle behind the transmission crossmember) measurements? My Sequoia seems pretty low stock. 11" on the dot sitting on 275/65/18s.

Eagerly waiting on my Dobinson Suspension. Currently sitting on 295/70/18s, no rubbing on the road.

Any updates on the 1.75” arrival?
Current ETA is August 10th.

For those who want them, but haven't ordered already, you'll most likely miss out if you keep waiting.

What springs would you recommend for an 04 Sequoia? I want a 2 inch lift. I'm going to need an heavy spring rate for front and rear. I have aftermarket bumpers and plan on a winch in the front.

All the options are in the first post. Dobinsons don't offer heavier load rear coils. The front shouldn't be a problem, as they're a pretty strong spring rate, and if you use the IMS struts, you can raise that height up. But for the rear, it will ultimately depend on how heavy the rear bumper is you have.

Who is making a rear Sequoia bumper these days?

I’ve seen others use different springs that weren’t specific to the sequoia on their rig from Dobinson. I might have to do a little more research to dial it in.

They are custom bumpers.

I just added some HUGE UPDATES to the first post. The MRA 3-Way Remote Resi Strut/Shock Options are now in stock and ready to ship for the 1st and 2nd Gen Sequoia's. They're also in stock for the 3rd Gen, but I'll make a new thread for that model.

The 1st Gen MRA's are a regular style that uses the existing Dobinsons coil option up front.
The 2nd Gen MRA's are a coilover design up front, using different rate coils, an upside down configuration, and still have the same 3-Way adjustable valving (low and high speed compression as well as rebound adjustments.

Do you have F/R hub to fender measurements on this with the 1.75" lift?
Approximate measurements:
Left Front 21 3/8”
Right Front 21 5/8”
Left Rear 22 3/4
Right Rear 23 1/4

I have the full 1/4 thick Valhalla steel skid plate and cat converter kit on it which probably weighs a couple hundred pounds.

Just received my 2.5" Dobinson's setup for my 2011 Sequoia. Any tips from those of you that have already done it before I dig in?

Hey, glad you got a set! It's pretty straight forward. I'd suggest you follow Farnsrocket's post about his install. I believe it's on here. It's what I followed. BTW, thanks! 🤟 Please post pics and before/after measures hub to fender. 😁 Good luck and be careful on the rears.

For the first time in almost a year, the rear 1.75" coils for the 2nd Gens are finally in stock. We have a reasonable amount of stock right now, but we don't expect them to last too long.

And here's the kit builder:

I got the 2.5" IMS kit and the shocks are beefy looking. Just did the rear install last night. @Farnsrocket write up was helpful. Not sure how different that 1.75" coil install is but those 2.5" coils barely fit, what a nerve racking PITA, especially on the passenger side. I'll probably work on the front this weekend, looks pretty funny sitting high in the rear. Did anyone else use the boots and if so, did anyone notice how close they are to the sway bar? Looks like it'll rub over time. I'm tempted to go in with a flap disc and smooth out the end of the sway bar.

I'll have to get post lift measurements. I didn't record the before measurements but they matched up with what others on here posted, ~ 20.5" Front, ~ 21.5" rear if I remember correctly.

I did notice that the boots are close to the sway bar on passenger side. I just drove about 2600 miles across US. So, the Iceberg (as we call it) got pretty dirty. I took a look and didn't see any actual rubbing on the boots. Super close though. And, I went over some decent terrain through Arizona/Colorado/Wyoming and SD. The IMS shocks are amazing over stock TRD and the higher spring rate kept me high in off camber situations giving more clearance, even with a trailer (~400 lb tongue weight). Really curious about your lift specs upon completion. Glad you got those rears in. 😱 cheers!

Finished up the front last night. Ended up looking at other manufacturer's install instructions since I couldn't find any from Dobinsons. The front actually went smoother than the rear which is kinda funny.

On the one for Toytec lifts it states:

"Now that front end is installed retorque everything you touched back to factory spec except for the lower shock and the cam bolts. These need to be tightened with the weight of the vehicle on the ground after a couple of jounces. Also wait until the vehicle is on the ground to reconnect the sway bar. (Toytec Tip) If you do not have the weight of the vehicle on the ground before you tighten the bolts your will prematurely wear out your bushings."

I googled Toyota's instructions and it looks to be correct. I'll have to climb under there and loosen them, bounce it a bit and then torque again.

I just checked and Dobinsons said they're the same spring rate as the 1.75" lift coils. So they'll be increased rate over stock. I don't have the OE rate info unfortunately.
@crikeymike
I finally manged to get the twin tube shocks and the stock height springs. It looks like the shocks are too long for the springs. The GS59-710 front shock/strut with the C59-474 stock height springs. The spring can be mounted without a spring compressor and there is a 1 or 2" gap between the top of the spring and the strut mount. I only have the dust cover/aluminium spacer/ cupped washer below the strut mount. It is a kyb mount with a new rubber bushing already installed. Is this normal?
