Been working on several other projects, so very excited to work on Vera again. Exhaust started. Headers are weld on type, so got stainless pipe and started cutting and tacking….

Well, had lots of distractions and other things going on in my life, but I finally got the exhaust wrapped up…. On the 80 Series typically the exhaust goes over the rear cross bar frame, however, my bed is pretty tight to it so I had to work a lot to get it to work under the member. At full flex it may hit something, but hopefully it won’t happen very often. I wanted to use the stock exhaust isolators, so I reused the mounts in different places.

Also cut the floor for the E brake and got the cable routed. Again took a lot of planning because of the structure on the old 45 series, and I’m trying to leave enough room for a Tuffy box between the seats

I forget how long it takes to do wiring…. Been working on the harness for the rear. This includes gas tank, rear locker, tail, lights, trailer, and emissions box. The original harness popped through cab under the drivers seat, so I extended it to enter by the Brake vacuum booster. Then my fuel pump is in a different location so I had to extend it there…. Then had to add all the wires for the locker and the emissions. The one cool thing was I finally used my press to make holes in sheet metal. 49mm was perfect!!!

I’m looking for the right plug for attaching to the pigtail that goes to the front and rear lockers. To be clear, I’ve got the wiring harness that plugs into the locker and then went up and plugged into the rest of the harness. If I recall the front on 80 Series plugged up near the cruise control, and then we are plugged in in the rear quarter area. I found a thread where @Beno wrote that the part 90980–11289 and 90980-11290 with the locker plug numbers, however, I think those are on the actual locker…. Looking at the EWD I think it’s BB1 and BH2 are the connectors. Also went to Ballinger to figure out what the replacement is with pigtails…. Can’t find a cross reference…. Anyone know?

Well, did not find any other hints, so found this using the part number.

Re: determining electrical connectors...
I'll embarrassingly admit that I recently needed female versions of some 2 pin deutsch style connectors and I used Google Lens (AI) on my phone very sucessfully.
Took a picture of the male connector, did the Google lens thing, and it directed me to some male connectors with pigtails on Amazon that fit perfectly.
First time for everything, worked to so well it likely wont be the last time.

Well, I’m gonna have to try the Google lens thing because these connections are slightly smaller at the side next to the body harness than the side that connects to the locker. To be clear, it appears the pigtails I bought will plug directly into the locker…. But I’m looking to plug in to the next connection upstream. There’s about a 5 foot wire section that goes from the locker up to the body harness.

So thank you to @kc_chevota For letting me grab a pigtail off his scrap harness. I need a second one so searching the Internet for this… maybe this one from ballenger??

Think that I determined that the wiring connector I need for the lockers is a Sumitomo HM 090 -- will order some of these and extra ones for hooking up the seats..

wanted to post up the wiring diagram for the seats....

Well…. Didn’t get as much done as I wanted to this winter, but Vera moves on her own!!! And the exhaust sounds amazing!!
