I'm tits deep in a 40 restomod type thing, but there's some sort of light at the end of the tunnel. I could possibly be driving it when they stop spraying the magchloride on the road.
I've always wanted more cruisers, but they're getting harder to find. Then a 55 hits the radar, it's got no engine, (2)tranny/transfers in the cargo area and some misc parts. I wouldn't want a stocker, just something I could play with and "get ice cream on Sunday's."

The good:
Unmolested, mostly
Original paint, so I can see the flaws
Floorboards look good
Glass is good
Stock disc brakes
Roof/ a pillar look good
Interior looks mostly there
Not complete- I wouldn't be destroying an all original unicorn
It's got patina

The Bad:
Swiss cheese rockers
Rusted lower fender
Interior is ~40 years old and it shows
Dash/glovebox are cracked warped
Doors are loose in the hinges- lift to close

Unknown:
Status of axles
Status of the (2) tranny/transfer cases
What drivetrain it would end up with ultimately, probably not stock
Do I have the time/money for this project

If I understand correctly, there's basically no resto parts for these, so I'd need to do custom work to fix:
Rockers: something like Lil' Johns are probably over kill, but I like the basic concept. Possibly boat sides? Does someone make these?
Interior- I suspense its sky's the limit, but I'll have a budget.
Engine- LS? Toyota? Probably not a diesel

Should I wait for the unicorn to come my way? Buy it? What's it worth? How much pain is this going to be?

I hemmed. I hawed. It sold...

Oh well, one less thing to way on my mind....

It was a good deal in retrospect. I think....

In reality, the all green 74 needed a lot of work. It had been hacked a long time ago. Rust was everywhere, the 350 had trouble motivating the pig, steering was more difficult than it should of been, brakes leaked and pulled hard to driver side. This one I was able to drive and it didn't lend a lot of confidence.
Alas, this skewed my view of the 75 and all I could see was money poring out the rust holes. It was probably a good candidate for a restomod. On top of that, My subdivision is in a bit of an uproar at the moment, so I don't know how I was going to store one pig- let alone two. The seller seamed like a good guy, so I hope he got what he was asking.

Lots of goodies there for a guy with time on his side for sure.
