I have both an auto darkening helmet and a regular one, if I am going to be tacking a lot of stuff (doing a lot of little short blasts) I pull out the regular one. I never see any issus with the auto darkening one, but I seem to have a bad headache after using it a lot. No issues with my eyes, just a headache, but I never get one with the regular helmet.

I have a real good Lincoln 110v, I love it. I can weld 1/4 if I take my time and do two passes, so it is more then I need. I have 4 220 outlets in my garage (PO was a nut) but I went with the 110. I can take it anywhere and use it, and have on many occasions where 220 was not available.

I wish I had an acetylene torch for brazing, heating thick metal to bend it, or cutting it. Wish I had a plasma cutter for cutting metal as well, but an angle grinder will work until I win the lottery, or all my kids are out of school and off my meal ticket.

There's a thread over in the Tools section about the Miller 211 MVP, it's worth a read:

I have one and love it, and the warranty discussion is moot for me since mine is now 3 years old. No regrets on the purchase.

I bought the Pro grade Miller auto helmet, very pleased. We just bought a dozen Speedglass helmets here at school for the welding classes, they are REALLY nice. The shell is much smaller but offers great coverage, and the pivot is lower and works really well. They really did their homework on these helmets, but they weren't cheap, I think they were around $400 each.
