The Prinsu is fine, but there are a lot of things I don’t like about it. I still think it’s a sleek and low profile option, but here are a few things I didn’t work for me:
- it can’t really support a 270 awning (the side rails are too thin and flimsy)
- it uses fixed spacers that aren’t adjustable unless you cut/replace them.
- the crossbars sit between the side rails, and depend on the screws to support all the weight. This sheer force on the screw has always made me a little nervous, especially with my RTT.

@bemerritt has a good review on the rack, so I’ll focus on getting it installed:

The amount of parts, detail, and design is off the charts!

Saved.

The Dudes have 2 different front fairings. A standard one, and one that is made specifically for my 40" Rigid Adapt - and it’s freaking amazing. I spent a lot of time rigging up generic light bar mounts to get it to sit right on the prinsu.

I got around to weighing everything today:
Crossbars - 20.5 lbs
Side Skits - 20 lbs (10 each)
Mounting feet/hardware - 8.5lbs

= 49lbs

the prinsu weighs over 50lbs

Hurry and get this thing on! 😁I am really looking forward to see how it looks and how you compare it to the Prinsu. What’s the big takeaways you’ve noticed so far compared to the Prinsu? I sure love that Adapt bar.

The screws holding the crossbars in is what always weirded me out on the Prinsu as well. This looks like serious rack, build quality off the charts, but I need to see it on the truck as that's what matters most.

Did you guys see @bemerrit’s post i linked earlier?

I should have some progress soon. I got the ikamper off last night. Now just need to clean all the old gasket-maker off and wash/wax the roof.

I didn’t see it, I’ll scroll up. Thanks. Good luck with the install.

Just to drop this tidbit here, after over 2 years with this, I have not had to retighten a single bold on the entire rack. Its a work of art that is as low profile as you can go.

Here’s what 2 years of not washing your roof looks like:

That is wild, definitely never clean mine. Were you able to not lose any of the retaining nuts in the headliner?!?!

- clean your mounting area
- spread form-a-gasket over and across each hole
- Place mounting foot
- form-a-gasket on the threads and the base of the head (so it oozes out between the top of the washer and the bolt head

Wow! Radman v2. Or is it v4?

The rear feet are special (different). Don’t forget about this when you’re mounting them up 🙄😂

Rack assembly continued:
- begin attaching 3 middle crossbars to one side of the skirt
- attach rear crossbar with ridiculous origami under/over/inside weave
- repeat opposite side, but this time start with rear cords are and work foreword
- front most crossbar has the short stiffeners.
- finger tighten all bolts.

At this point, I lifted the loosely assembled rack onto a long flat bench. This allows all the crossbars to sit flat and let the side skits hang low.

- attach bulb trim anti front fairing, and attach front fairing to rack assembly.
- the bulb trim/fairing will be used in the next step to support the front of the rack.
