Has anyone done the high clearance bumper install yet? I think the hardware is different from the original instructions and I’m having a little bit of a hard time figuring out what is used where. This is the updated hardware list.

Edit: I think I got it figured out. If anyone needs help on this in the future feel free to reach out. It was way more straight forward than I thought.

What size drill bits is everyone using for the install? I've seen 9/16 and 5/8 mentioned. Are you guys drilling the front horn holes both in one pass or drilling them separately? Are you dropping the exhaust resonator to drill the extra hole in the rear?

@benc mentions 5/8” in a previous post. With a 1/2” bolt, it’s not wildly important between 9/16 and 5/8 though. The bolt and nut are holding everything in place with what I guess would be the compressive effect of the nut as it puts a tensile load on the bolt. 1/16” of a difference in the size of the hole doesn’t matter much other than possibly adding a little initial higher range of first fitment.

I’ll make another plug for a high quality step drill bit again. I’m quite certain I initially used a standard (but high strength cobalt) bit and it still took some serious time to chew through the frame with a corded drill. Step drill ripped though with relative ease.

Sorry, to answer the rest of the questions…

I believe the holes were drilled separately in the front. I’m a little foggy on the back but I may have enlarged the outer hole with a step bit then used a standard bit to get the inside without messing with the exhaust. Not 100% sure but based on the pictures from the instal instructions, that’s kinda what I remember.
