They are required here in CA and I have never had one on any car I've owned since i started driving 25 years ago. +1 for, "screw it!" LolJust curious how current owners of a dissent front bumper are mounting their license plates?
They are required in IL, but I may just say screw it and go without a plate.

Required here in CO too and interestingly I got ticketed for not having it mounted (OEM bumper) a few months ago. I was ticketed by some busy body parking enforcement officer. Really pissed me off. I can see being ticketed by a police officer after being pulled over for something else or even getting a warning but by a meter Nazi when my meter was paidThey are required here in CA and I have never had one on any car I've owned since i started driving 25 years ago. +1 for, "screw it!" I had the same idea: flip up license plate mount over/above the fairlead. @benc any ideas?I plan on mounting on the vertical portion above the recessed fairlead with some sort of hinged or removable backing plate.
I just bought the same one (OK4WD had them for 15% off). Interested in the response as well.I just got a Factor55 1.5" fairlead to use with this aluminum bumper. Which size bolts should I get to mount it? Anybody know?
Yup I took advantage of the sale!I just bought the same one (OK4WD had them for 15% off). Interested in the response as well.
I have enough material for a run of ten and the price on the first ten is $1575 with or without light cutouts.
The one on the website is steel. The one in this thread is aluminum.A little bit confused. Is it the same front bumper listed on your website at $1075 for LX470?
Salts are extremely corrosive. When salt air and salt water come into contact with aluminum they can cause both the chalky, white coating of aluminum oxide and unpleasant pitting. Fortunately, there's an easy way to protect aluminum from salt water and prevent unsightly corrosion: a powder coating.I think leaving the center portion of the aluminum bumper uncoated, with uncoated skids would look killer. Does exposed aluminum do OK exposed to the elements?
Curious...after the redesign.....
What is the final weight of the bumper with all the mounting hardware?
(not including da stinger, aka hoop bar, aka dear catcher...
