Sneak peak of the aluminum lc200 roof rack! View attachment 1886269

I know time flies, and you have done excellent work on bumpers, etc.; but I have not seen any progress on this roof rack. Since it would fit ALL model year Land Cruisers from 2008 - 2021, I'm surprised you haven't pushed this more.

Any hope it might be available soon, or should I give up?

Thanks.

I believe @gaijin's question was geared more towards are they available now for purchase and shipment. Not can they be installed in @benc's shop on individual builds. Maybe I misunderstood.

You got it right. There is still nothing on their web site, so I'm guessing it's not generally available yet.

Happy to be wrong, but looks like still not available to order.

why don't you contact him via ph/email and order one?

Good for you. Got an extra one you can send me?
No reason to sound butt hurt. You say you have moved on, yet here you are. Call Ben, I almost guarantee he will ship you one as he was going to ship me skids before I went a different direction. He is probably one of the nicest guys I have dealt with for vehicle parts/mods over the years. Or you can just complain on the internet and not get one. Choice is yours.

I ordered my front and rear from Ben a couple weeks ago, looking forward to continuing the 200 transformation.

My choice has been made.

I mean you’re still talking about it.

Not trying to change your mind- but maybe a public service announcement in general. As I am, Ben is busy. He's answering phone and email all day not to mention working in the shop. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with the forums, IG messages, FB messages, etc, etc.

I know for me direct email or call is the only sure way to get me. Sometimes I'm on the forums and answer when I can. Sometimes not. I almost never respond to "how much is it?" or "what fridge will fit?" type questions on social media. It's just too much. I could spend my ENTIRE day answering questions, talking to (potential) customers, answering threads, etc.

Ben is a stand up guy and will square you away- IF he knows you're waiting for a reply.

Well said Sir!
To own and run a small business, that is busy, to do it properly, to be profitable, to keep good employees happy, make customers happy, is not an easy task at all! Some people (I am not saying anybody in particular) don't fully understand that because they have never lived it. On top of all of those business responsibilities for a lot of small business owners is keeping up with family responsibilities as well.
Its a lot and I have a ton of respect for people that do it well and do it with class. I love supporting businesses like this and love it even more when it is related to my favorite past time!

I, too, continue to be interested in Ben’s offerings. (Almost pulled the trigger on a front bumper setup but life got complicated and I had to hold off.) This roof rack looks interesting as it would be lighter than the Gobi I currently have. But I do have questions about fit and function. Wondering if any current owners would be willing to attempt to address questions and post more pictures. The ones from @bemerritt are intriguing. (That solar panel is very cool.)

For example, how would (or could I) easily put Yakima cargo boxes and accessories on it? (I can do this on my Gobi rack with my moveable crossbars but it gets everything sitting up pretty high.) Also, is there a “floor” platform to stand on it if desired? (I stand on my Gobi from time to time.) My Gobi is heavy and tall and the floor is not “flat”. This is not an urgent thing for me but I am interested.

Good questions. I was also wondering about the noise @bemerritt at highway speeds (70-80).

How’s the noise on the Gobi, Dan?

I pulled the trigger on the new design front bumper a few days ago. Can't wait to get rid of my front Tupperware!

To be honest, I don’t notice noise on the Gobi. But that is very likely because I have just grown accustomed to hit. I have had it for 3 years. There are probably a lot of noises that I now think are “normal”.

Ben’s/Dissent’s bumpers, roof rack, compressor mounts, customer service, you name it are all the absolute best. When fellow 200 owners see the quality of Ben’s work on my truck compared to other makers, including the ones used on their own trucks, they are left drooling.

I have put a yakima cargo box on before. The one I had had adjustable attachment points, so i adjusted to the proper distance and just clamped around the dissent crossbars.

I also have put my yakima ski carrier on it, however I did mount it slightly differently. Again, the distances worked out, but i ened up just bolting them to the crossbars with Dissent's included mounting plates.

Crossbar distances are rather fixed for four of them, but you can always add more that can be placed wherever.

I haven't seen a platform, but I a msure Ben would entertain that as a custom add on. I actually wouldn't mind having a platform between two of my rails to use as something to strap smaller items to

Noise is rather quiet. Driven with a couple other roof racks on other vehicles and this is definitely the most quiet.
