Here are the pictures from our trip to Dishpan Springs on Sunday the 21st. Funny, on our way down we asked directions and were told by a Jeep guy that our vehicles wouldn't make it through Dishpan. But we took our time through the Falls and picked the best line, hence the easiest, and got through relatively unscathed, just a little slider action. The rest was fun and easy.

The wind wasn't so bad and our eyes were always looking out in the horizon for any smoke. But then we hear the next morning that the fires started that night. 3N16 that we took to the east end of the trail looks like it got runover a little as well as HWY 18 in Running Springs that we took back on our way down. Quite sad that we saw some of the pre-fire conditions and I am not looking forward to seeing the aftermath.

But to the pictures:

Here are the Falls, I went first for once.

We both actually forgot to take pics on the hardest little part because we were both concerned about damage. But it ended up being relatively easy.

Pictures from the bottom. Lots of moto guys rolling through, and a Rhino making both of us look like pansies.

Helped the only other full vehicle we saw that day go up the falls.

Sorry, forgot to mention Redcheetah was my wheelin' buddy for the day. Maybe his flamin red hair was not visible enough in the pics. Its easy for us to get there because we are both within 45 minutes drive to the trailhead.

It was a bit breezy and cool, so we had some coats on. We got on the trail at about 11am.

The trail is apart of the comglomerate of the Big Bear Trails. Its between Green Valley Lake and Lake Arrowhead. Its on the map as 3N34.

Its actually a very short trail with lots of small bumps, one main obstacle, and a simple one at the end. I think a lot more people approach it in the opposite direction we did that day, so they can go up the Falls. Actually, before Holcomb Creek closed, this trail was used for double trail run days because they link up pretty easily.

It was definitely a fun run but the only real excitement is the waterfall situation. It would make a nice link to the holcomb trail though. Either way, its still great to get out and play.

A picture is worth 1000 words:
