I have a 97 LX. Love the rig but I'm 6'5 and it can get uncomfortable very quickly. I was thinking about just replacing the seats with something that is more comfortable for me, especially for a road trip. What about 100 series seats in an 80? Any other ideas? Something that would go back further and price more support for a 6'5 guy would be great. That way I can enjoy this awesome rig more!

Thanks for the input

Provide more support*

Search for landtank seat brackets to allow the seat to travel back further. Types of donor seats has been discussed at length. I believe the 100 seats are too wide for the 80.

Any non land cruiser seats out there that would look good and be a lot more comfortable? It doesn't have to be a toyota seat. As long as it's tan leather and is comfortable for me. The 80 series seats are just brutal for a tall guy. No support in the areas you need it.

@ 6'5" 200#, the Landtank seat extenders made a huge difference in my LX for legroom. But the LX side bolsters are a bit on the narrow side.

I ride with seat base at it's highest position and a somewhat upright back. Having the additional legroom made the stock seat more comfortable, not perfect, but significantly better.

Thanks for the input. I'll check out the sliders. It would be nice to get a pair of seats that are super comfortable and heated. For me, that would be one of the best upgrades I could do for this rig. If I can get it to where it is amazingly comfy it would make it a lot more enjoyable. If anyone has my seat ideas please chime in. Thanks

Oem Cloth seats give an extra inch over stock leathers and are a ton cooler temp wise on long trips........and also weigh a ton less.

at 6'3.5....... cloth seats combined with spacers between the tracks and seatbase ( basically unbolting seattops/ and using 1/2" of spacers or so) : this effectively gets your seat up higher/ further from pedals and gives you a better view over hood.

if you change to longer grade 8 bolts - you could probably do 3/4" spacing.

it really depends on your leg length tho.......im 36" @ 6' 3.5" and this combo works great.

Pricey, but ooh la la. I'm 6'2", 245 and after a week or so, the side bolsters "broke-in" to my size, and I'm very happy with my purchase. They also move back pretty far as well. I couldn't stand the stock seats, torn w/ duct tape ripping leg hair out, had to go. Again, pricey, but beyond satisfied. If you go to an aftermarket seat, find a retailer so you can sit in them before dropping the money counter! Happy hunting!

Those look freakin' amazing!!!

Those look way more comfortable than stock leather seats. I will prob go that route and go with aftermarket. I'd like to to try and match the interior color as much as possible. Anyone with aftermarket seats care show us?

What part number are those? What brackets did you use?

I got them at a local shop in the SF Bay Area. Part of a project where all seats were recovered in black.

holy s*** those recaros are nice !

details on model ?

@ElCid04 here's the link, Baja XRS suspension seats, and I used their double locking brackets as well. Love them. Spent the weekend in the hospital, hell, took the LC for a drive today, and was instantly reminded after climbing in, if why I love them. It's a hefty purchase without trying them first. I saw some in another rig and asked to sit in one, guy was nice. Sold.

I install BMW sport seats, E46 if my memory serves me today. Very comfortable, I spent a day out on the trails at Rausch creek a couple weekends back, never even thought about the seat. For someone with a bad back, that is a great thing!
