I searched and could not find and side by side comparisons... I am looking at a cruiser with H and a couple with 2H Diesels. Which one is more bullet proof for long freeway trips? Any big weaknesses? What to look for when driving them and looking at the motor? Any and all comments are appreciated.

The H engines had a reputation for more headgasket and head problems than the 2H.:cheers:

The 2h really does have a better rep than the h. its not that the h is unreliable, its just the 2h is moreso. Also more power and runs sooo much smoother.

The 2H has a better lubrication system and has mounting points for power steering.
H and early model 2H have bore sleeves (up to about 84 in oz)although they can be added to non sleeved engines if needed.

Get the 2H and blow all those 3B owners into the weeds:flipoff2::D

Thanks for the input

I met someone outside of a pub one night and I told him he had a really nice 2H powered Coaster bus.(Dark green with embroiderd curtains and chrome wheels:flipoff2:)
He was saying he wanted to put oil squirters on to cool the pistons so he could put more turbo boost into the engine.
Is that possible or was he enebriated like me:D

LOL!!
now that is funny!

Well he was serious. I think he wanted to use some splashers that fitted to the big end nuts that threw the oil higher:D
Cheap 12HT:grinpimp::flipoff2:

Great idea! Spatula's with the handles drilled, tapped and installed to scoop and fling the oil on rotation!

:D

Hi All:

What is the difference between a "1HD-t" and a "1HD-FT?" What does the "F" in the model name signify?

Thanks!

Alan
