Of course, everyone needs to have an off road truck with on board air on demand and on board booze on demand

It's the coolant lines for the idle up adjustment done via a mechanical/wax unit. It might also be to heat up the fuel but I haven't looked into the pump to confirm/deny that.
So the weather was crap today, instead of installing the engine I wired the engine and made the bracket/shroud for the electric fan.
Graham has apparently lost his mind and volunteered to coma and help me tomorrow, so I'm hoping to get a fair bit done.

Good news = engine is in.
Bad news = the radiator with electric fan doesn't fit ...grrr
So after reviewing choices, the rad us getting dropped (which it needs to because the body was lifted by the P.O.) And the front cowl is getting "modified" to fit everything ....another delay...

Can you ditch the electric fan and go mechanical? I have always had cooling issues running electrics.

Thanks Jeremy. I decided to not use the mechanical fan for 2 reasons. I've never had an electric before and wanted to test it, the mechanical one would have needed an extension machined to clear all the belts and pulley. The problem with that is it would put it very far away from the mount and might cause an imbalance. The stock water pump bearings are never that heavy duty so it could wear them out quicker.

Also I went with a large Hayden 17" dual speed fan, with the full relay package that has the timers and temp probe.

So in the past couple days managed to get the clutch and power steering relocated/re-connected.

Managed to cut away enough of the cowl to fit the radiator and fan.
Did about 90% of the new radiator bracket which doubles as the intercooler bracket.

Sadly my "vacation" from work and school is done so I'm only able to work on the weekends on this now. I have about 4-5 long days of work left.

The AC is for his endless air setup.
Mat, did you check out any hydraulic hose shops. I found that they can put together almost any high pressure hose. Use the OEM fittings on one end and the NPT on the other end.

I went to New Line, the issue is that automotive AC line hose and connectors are specialized, so far as GM has invented their own fittings to work on their vehicles that are different from eveyone else. Toyota at least used something that was a little more common but not something that could be transferred to a traditonal, common pipe or similar fitting. We cut the hose on site and tried to find fittings that could be crimped on but AC hose is once again an unpopular size. So....I managed to cheat it. The larger hose accepted a push in, barbed NPT fitting after some persuasion, and the smaller hose got it's ID drilled out a bit to accept one as well (tight fit). Combined with a good quality clamp it should easily deal with the under 200 PSI air requirements.

Dealing with AC lines always has been a pain in the ass when I have done swaps in the past. Fortunately you are just dealing with OBA so its not as critical to have a high pressure seal.

On my York I just used push lock hose and a clamp works great and has never leaked.

Well the fun continued on the weekend.
Cut more holes in the front clip, these for the intercooler lines.

Mocked up the radiator again ...for the 10th time in a row ...it's getting more milage than the truck...

Intercooler mocked up ...just found out I'm missing 1 90 degree elbow, 2.5", looks like that I will have to buy locally, which sucks considering they are $12 on ebay and $25 at Lordco...grrr

Mocked up the fan with mount, and modified the "shroud". Added more holes to improve flow and lighten it up, next stop will be some dimples for strength on the top and bottom...
