The York is about a 1/3 the size of this engine, it's way too big to comfortably fit in here. Getting the AC pump to fit was entertaining.
Mat I would stay with the stock belt driven fan
I had a real problem with the 2l heating up in the willys
With a two speed electric fan that was as big as the rad
And the shroud was sealed to the rad

Been a busy couple days, the brackets are all done, the fabrication is complete (for the engine that is).

Also managed to finish the modifications to the TD04-09 turbo, exhaust housing. Now this one was better designed than the original one I plucked up but it was not perfect. The internal wastage was located in such a way that it created very steep angles and large pockets for the exhaust to get trapped in. That was the reason for the external one. So the internal one needed to be blocked off.
After hunting around I found the right MIG wire to weld cat steel from the good guys at Arctec in Surrey. It welded well but spattered like crazy. I heated up the housing to 450F for about an hour, then welded it, then allowed to cool at 250F for an hour and finally to naturally cool to room temperature. This was done to make sure no cracks wear created from to fast heat/cool down. It appears to have worked well.

Watch the braket on the down pipe, I have done that before and had all them crack and or tear a hole in the pipe with heating and cooling.

Thanks guys, as for the down pipe, I think it should be ok, if anything the welds might break one year but the down pipe is schedule 40 it's a lifetime pipe

A bit done today but since I only have a tiny grill (XS cargo special) I can only bake one larger object at a time so paint curing has been painfully long. Especially with the process required for the VHT paint.
Other than that I got the rest of my fittings and found out the I have to make my own gaskets for the turbo because I can't get anything locally and only might be able to get it from the US.

Hahahaha! Damn, wait, that should mean you got to keep the old one for paint curing ....still a pricey adventure. At least mine only cost me $50 at XS Cargo.
Yea, I decided I wanted the down pipe solid and permanent, not like the rest of the exhaust (thin and prone to rusting easily).
Yeah I got nothing out of the deal lol. No room in my garage as you know for a stove. The damn paint did not even cure right haha.
I plan to make part of my downpipe out of thick pipe as well.

Well I tried to wrap it up before the end of the year, came close. Got all the painting done, had to fabricate gaskets, got the oil lines sorted out and a couple other little things...

A little more progress. Tomorrow the engine is going to go in (knock on wood, unless something happens) and I'll get to start figuring out the coolant line, electrical, exhaust (new needed), intercooler and piping...etc...etc...
