Hi Everyone, hoping you can help me here. Have a 94 FZJ80 that has been throwing CEL codes 12, 25, 26 and 71 over the past month. I disconnected negative terminal on battery and the 12, 25, 26 disappeared but that is when i got the 71 code. I had once again disconnected negative terminal on battery to see what CEL code would reappear, trying to narrow down my problem. Drove for almost 50 miles before CEL came back on again. So tonight I went to check the code again, using the paperclip method and I had the clip in the E1 spot and it slipped, hit another connection within the diagnostics box (not sure which one) and I got a pretty decent spark and the paperclip got hot fast. I then connected the clip properly in E1 and TE1. I noticed the CEL light was now OFF. So i disconnected the paperclip and tried starting the car. It will not start at all. It cranks just fine but doesn't start. I drove it earlier today no problem. I disconnected the negative terminal on the battery again, pulled the EFI fuse let it sit for 20 minutes, reconnected everything and tried again. Still cranks, will not start. Any ideas? Much appreciate any thoughts or suggestions you have.

Check your fusible links, may have melted one. No Cel with key on means no power to the ECU. Something gave up in that circuit
Thanks I'll take a look tomorrow morning, may just order that and install anyway

Order what?
A 1994 LC ECU??
Took me a good while to get a known-good, used 1993 ECU for spare.
Hate that happened and really hope the issue is a fusible link (tho that might be wishful thinking). It is easy to check tho.
Otherwise check all the other fuses.
Lots of connections can be made with a paperclip bob'ling-aboot in the diag connector, eh.
Hopefully just one fuse will be the issue.
Good luck.
Please report back.

More than likely a fusible link/fuse.
Just a note for the future, removing the 15 amp EFI fuse is all that is needed to reset the ECU and clear codes. It is less invasive than removing battery terminals and accomplishes the same thing.
