FWIW, I just came across these blasts from the past. In '98 and '99, Toyota recommended Type T IV to replace Type T II (not dextron II). By 2002, the recommendations had changed to Type III for all A343 ATMs. (I know, I'm highjacking an A400 post)

I haven't seen a current SB, but one of the dealers here clearly told me that they only sell (and recommend) Toyota branded Type T IV now.

Dexron-VI: Introduced in 2006 for GM Hydra-Matic 6L80 6-speed rear-wheel-drive transmissions. Dexron VI replaced Dexron II and III, and can be used in General Motors domestically built or import transmissions that specified Dexron II or Dexron III. Dexron VI is a low viscosity transmission fluid and should also be used with the full synthetic low viscosity transmission fluid.

Any difference between Synthetic ATF for a 1993 A440F and not synthetic? What would you do? I plan on doing a complete flush
I'd echo the above re: syn vs conventional - I use maxlife syn in all our dex/merc vehicles as it's known to be good stuff, and very available around here in the gallon jugs.

When you say flush, do you mean hooked up to a machine? Or using the truck's own power to pull new fluid in as you dump the old?

Using the LC's power to flush 3 quarts at a time.
Just concerned since it will be us doing the first ATF change on this 93 tanny. Since I thought all torque converters were the same with a plug in the TC but apparently this Toyo is not and will have to use the power of tranny to flush.
I called three Toyo dealers near us and none of them had info on our tranny. I went to Napa and they said they (toyo) call us on older vehicles. lol
Dexmerc shows that it is the replacement for this A442F 1993, NOT the A440f as I asked earlier.
