They were tight on my 08 Tundra which takes the 9005 and h11. I wish there was a directed light pattern, I have a feeling I'll be getting flashed a lot.

I tried both sides and fiddled around with each socket on the 80 and they could all wiggle loose really easily. They are factory light housings.

I adjusted the height on all my rigs, on my 100 I thought I was good and had to raise them. Never get flashed on low and did all the time with my HID's.

I will contact them about the fitment issue and get back to you asap

I think these are excellent candidates for mounting behind a projector. Please someone try this.

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD while navigating gnarly trail. Typos are inherent.

What he said! I'd love the reliability of LEDs over hids and the improved beam pattern of projectors. You can buy jut the projector that TRS sells on eBay for $60 or so.

Grizzly, do you have factory housings? I put a set in my buddy's 80 when he came to visit a month ago and if I remember correctly the O-ring seats the bulb. No? If OE housings, ill ask and see what's up. On my 100 series, they were much tighter and harder to lock into place.

Send me an email with your findings and ill forward it on. Thanks[/QUOTE

Hey Shane,

I have the exact same problem with my 100 series bulbs that just came in... very loose when in, to the point that I doint think they seal out water/ dust at all and I'm afraid they will fall out as they move around and don't lock in place...
They are definitely super bright !! :)

I have a lost box from DHL that has 40 sets, with that said I will compare when I get them or with my truck.

I can tell you that 9005 and 9006 are different and I am an idiot for putting them in backwards. My girl told me that they were not correct and I thought she was pulling the girl card. Sure enough I swapped them somehow when I removed my HID's. I do remember that that once I swapped them they were beyond tight. Like TIGHT and If I remember one locks counter clock wise, not sure why?

I have been fighting kidney issues for over a week and just plain dont want to go outside as it's cold and when I have meds in my I am freezing to the point I am a huge puss. So in the next few days I will tear mine apart and shoot video or pictures.

This is important to me as I tested the 9005/9006/H4 with ZERO issues.

I have the 2007 front end and the lows are outside and highs are the inside, not sure about the early years.

Update with pictures.

9005 on the left. 9006 on the right.

The tabs, the three fingers that align for bulb and housing mating appear to be identical. However the smaller top tab is .10 clocked more one direction than the other. Meaning you can install them backwards.

Also you'll notice the O-Ring is higher, this is because its not seating correctly. Check yours please when you get a chance.

Shane,

Sorry to hear about your health - hope you get better soon !!
I'm not sure which ones I got, but both my buddy (second set) and I had to remove the original orange "O" rings and put in much thicker black "O" rings in order for the bulbs to stay in the openings... - something is not right.
On second note they are great white lights just not sure if cut off points are exact since the "O" rings are about 1/8" or a little thicker (thou I'm sure they compressed a bit)
BTW: I have an original to my truck front end and the lows are on top and highs are on the bottom

That makes sense, I will yank mine out and compare with pics.

the health issue is what it is.....I had my bladder augmented 20 years ago using a large section of bowel. So I get low grade infections which cause stones. The meds I take give me severe migraines, I just cant win.... I get them so frequently I just make it part of my life, though they take me off the grid for days to over a week at a time. My girl is very patient with me, so that works and our anniversary today, what was she thinking?

In this case I hope it passes quickly !!
Happy anniversary / Valentines day tomorrow - you better get better soon ;) !!

Shane,
Hope you feel better soon! Your health is top priority.

When you feel well enough to respond, I have a question regarding the 9005/9006 LED headlights. Do you have pics of how you mounted yours? I'm curious what you do with the black boxes that come off the lights? Do you just let them dangle, screw them down somewhere (not sure where that would be), zip tie them off, etc.? I bought the headlights and fog lights. Can't wait to see the difference. Thanks in advance.

Feeling better is perspective. It's a condition I have to live with and yes it sucks ass. Thanks though.

Does this male sense?

The drivers have holes on each end and come with zip ties. They are not skinny enough to go through the holes, so I'm looking into that.

Ok drove quite a bit last night and there is no proper cut off on the head light...got flashed a few times. Wonder if it has anything to do with that non original "O" ring? I'll try to take some pictures tonight.

9005 is high beam
9006 is low beam

I had to google it.

Very very hard to tell the difference in the two and I'm not sure I got it right.

Passenger side is a snap but drivers is a bitch. Had to pull my Slee battery tray.

I'll see how they look tonight.

You'll need to mark the cut off of your halogen bulbs. Install new, weather LED or HID and adjust to the cut off line.

I had to adjust quite a bit as I had updated my front end with '07 lights.

I never get flashed with low and push my luck and use high beams on the freeways and do get flashed once every few miles or so.

In an 80, there's no reflector, so the LED is friendlier than HID, yet brighter and the only want to do it is projector and open your wallet for $1500

Since I did a bulk purchase I got them bulk. Meaning I had to supply boxes. Each was marked on the inside. 9005 or 9006

I had to take a micrometer to tell what was which. The tabs are the tell.

One is at 12-7-5 o'clock
Another is at 12-6:45-5 o'clock

I'm not sure I understand this. Can you elaborate?

Mine are night and day brighter than the Sylvanias I took out.

I'm assuming I have them in correctly if they fit.

The low beams cast a big beam for sure. I don't use mine much so I doubt I will do any adjusting.

The high beams are totally legit. Bright bright. And cast a big area of light.
