Chicago; No Big deal it's an easy day trip we can do any weekend this summer. Just let us know when you can do it, most likely we will be there.

Ken get your chit together:flipoff2:, sounds like the trip you have planned will be a gass. To bad everybody else at my work is taking next week off and I'm kind of stuck there.

IIRC,
Kens rig was in pieces before BR trail too!

Ahhh.. you know how it is when you start screwing around with your junk.
Im trying to complete a custom install with Bilstein 7100's.
I keep hitting small road blocks, I will go out on a limb and say I now have everything to go forward.
But as far as getting my crap together or needing counsel, come on by the fridge is full....

We had a blast. Bad news is the switch that has been kind of flakey on my digital camera took a digger early in the day so not a lot of pictures. This is the best of the lot

:princess: Loved this trail so I'm sure we will be game to do it again soon.

What about Slick Rock and Strawberry? I'm thinking they would be fun if they are anything like Deer valley.

Definitely looks a little too rough for the Tacoma, but nice. Too bad about the camera.

Jack

Props to anyone who did the trail stock, Kieth. It would have challenged me in the fourty pre_gears.
Nice !

Looks great!

Deer valley is a great little trail, challenging from start to stop.

The nice thing is the non-techinical sections are smooth, none of that cobble stone crap.

I think we should plan Strawberry and Slick Rock soon.

Slick Rock is fun, with one moderately serious spot, but will not significantly challenge the capabilities of an SOA FJ40. The other Dan's 100 could do this trail easily as well. Stock Tacama, I'm not sure about. There would be moderate sheet metal risk.

If you do Strawberry South to North, it's easy for anything, even stock. There is a drop or two at the end, but even those look worse then they are. There is really great camping up at the top of the ridge on the south side.

I agree that Deer Valley is more fun than you would think.

I'm looking for trails that are fun for :princess:, she liked Deer Valley. High altitude so it was cool, slow going so not a lot of dust or bouncing. Lots of pretty stuff to look at. Straight to pavement at the end of the trail.

The road up Ebbets pass kind of freaked her out :grinpimp:

Id LOVE to go back and do those again...(strawberry/ deer valley)
I think I might have an easier time SOA'd and locked. It was a bit stressful going through it STOCK and open diffs.
Let get some dates so the wife can request the time off, and I can make sure I dont sign up to work at the hospital!
The camp spot that Crusierdrew is referring to was truly AMAZING!
I thought I had some pics of it, but I must have deleted them!

Hey Rusty,
How long did it end up taking start to finsh?

We left Woodfords at 9:15, We were on the trail by 10:30. We took 30 - 45 minutes for lunch before the 1st water crossing, and I think we were at Blue Lake by 2:00. With just two SOA'd 40's, locked and geared, you can motor right along on that trail. We have a lot of fun with the wagons, but there is a lot to be said for going with rigs of similar capabilities.
Mark and Marchel(sp?) are a lot of fun to wheel with. She is a sweet kid and Mark is really easy going. I don't know how many trips I've been on with those two, but I do know they are always fun to be around.

I think we are game for Deer Valley almost anytime anybody wants to go.
You all know where to find me.:grinpimp:
