you're running an external pump?

Yep. Replaced the stock fuel pressure regulator and it runs fine.

I cut the fuel level sending unit arm and lengthened it to match the size of the new tank. I drew the arc of the movement of the arm out on the bench then made it follow the same arc, but longer so that it reaches the bottom of the bigger tank. You could also shorten the arm of the sending unit using the same method.

Funny, the APR tech last night told me stick with as much OEM stuff as possible... he said "fuel cell with everything else OEM, that's how we do our race cars".... kinda what i was going for. That thread of gregs scares me... too much to troubleshoot and not enough folks knowing... the folks that do know send you in 15 different directions... my dumbass would try going every one of those directions... KISS

plastic fuel cell

electric fuel pump supplied by factory wiring

factory fuel level sending unit modified for size of the tank (I'll do this for you if you want)

get it.

Why even have a fuel level sending unit? He won't drive this far enough to empty the tank....

I say try to make it work with the mods euclid suggested.

if it doesnt work F' it.

just shake it if you here slosh you got fuel if you don"t..you don"t

I don't think i will get away with not having one in the zuk. i just have to come to terms with that . my biggest concern is i dont want fuel in the cab. I may find a 10 gallon slim model to still fit under bed.

I say eat some sushi, but you probably already have.

cut your factory tank to right size and jb weld a pool liner on the sides and be done...

better yet, put a kiddy pool in the bed with a siphon.

Add a good friend with good lungs for a fuel pump.

Make This fuel tank happen E.
Sequence 10 1 gallon milk jugs set them on top of the cab and let it be gravity fed.
if you need more pressure build a rack and mount'm higher.
:D:beer:.

and start smoking cigars while you a driving. Just look how kool Nolen is.

Eric.... remember, 40's are what go under 80's :D
Youve proven it well, no need to change directions now.

(ill be following your fuel cell progress wanting an aftermarket cell in stock location)

So, as it turns out, mangled gas tanks don't like to be unbolted and the RE-bolted back up...
This weekend when swapping the rear axle I unbolted the front strap, to pull the e-brake cable out and put the new one back in. The tank strap will not bolt back up... no way no how.
guess I'ma pull it for now, run Lorena off spicy mayonaise.

Duct it !

Or throw that sumbiotch in the bed.

This is Memphro-canical engineering 101 stuff...

Tie that sumbitch up with an extension cord, and git at it.
