Blasted multiple threads! I was thinking about your motor so much yesterday and just realized I flew to Ft Lauderdale with no socks!! Good thing I brought flip flops for the ride home :)

Something is up with my phone and isn't loading those two pages.... i'll check them out when I get home.

I was thinking about it earlier today...... the number one thing that causes these things to have a hard start is air in the system..... double or triple check it at the bleeder valve.

You haven't messed around with the fuel screw at all since it was last started right??

Get a plug in pre-heater and try heating it up. One of the tips I got when working on my mercedes is get the car nice and hot before changing the fuel filter, that way it will help overcome air in the system if there is a little. Heating it up before hand might help.

Other than that check out the threads on 4bt swaps to see what problems others have had. ***EDIT: never mind that last one I see that one of the links was to 4btswaps.com

First time i changed my fuel filter on my 6bt was a wake up call. Got air in the lines and caught you know what for at least a good 15 minutes of trying to get the air back out, and it was just run 30 minutes prior. I know you know diesels take alot of compression to get them going. Cruiser diesels average 550 lbs. Not too sure on 4 / 6bt's.

LMAO! Sometimes that seems like the right thing to do.

Good job on that video man

For a technical update, we worked and worked and worked, then found a couple of problems that were fixed, but still couldn't get the motor to fire on its own, other than on starter fluid.

- replaced fuel filter + lift pump
- tested and fixed voltage issue with fuel solenoid
- checked fuel lines for leaks
- bled and bled and cranked and cranked
- tested injectors
- sent injection pump out for testing

We agree that the problem is fuel pressure related, and the IP is the only thing left that could be wrong, so I hope that Chason Diesel in Garner, NC tells me on Monday that they found a terminal problem and fixed it. Keep your fingers crossed!!
