Custom Radius Arms for the light duty 70 series?

So it looks like there are 5 people on board, are all of you still a go?

1. @joekatana
2. @steve729
3. @dstep
4. @Tsvigo
5. @Jakub

OK, what the heck, throw me on that list!

Off the top of my head, please consider the following when you design the new arms:

- Strength - the light duty 70 front arms are actually a bit lighter than the 80 front arms, and I've heard they can bend. I assume your new design will be stronger.

- Good for lifts from 2" to 4" (as a minimum - more options would be great).

- Castor correction.

- Move axle forward to factory location.

- Better clear the steering linkage that is behind the front axle. Light duty 70 has the steering damper and a tie rod behind the rear axle. Clearance to the radius arm is pretty tight.

- Allow greater axle articulation? I guess a bit thinner where it bolts to the brackets so it can twist? You guys know best.

- Accommodate OEM bushing size? I think you do this on the 80 arms already.

Thanks so much. I can probably get ahold of some OEM radius arms to send you if you want. But really, it might be best if you had a whole truck to work with?

Yes! 5/5 again! 🔥

Unfortunately for this topic, I am in Australia so not much of help from here.

Definitely 4” team🤘

VERY nice! are those for sale somewhere? or someones "one-off' personal projects?

I think those were just someone's personal project.

I have discovered that the same issue that exists at the front of the light duty 70 also happens at the rear, as they are basically the same geometry. So rear custom radius arms would be nice as well. Not sure how much market there would be though.

I did press caster correction bushings into my rear axle and was quite happy with the correction to driveshaft angle and better articulation. LJ7x/KZJ7x rear axle caster correction? - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/lj7x-kzj7x-rear-axle-caster-correction.1232358/ But again, custom rear arms would be better than offset bushings.

It's a guy doing one off sets but priced where most people would loose interest fast . They are sweet though but it would be around 2400 euro for front and rears , I feel for most LJ owners that is a investment they would not do .

How are we looking? Can’t wait for it. Car drives like rubbish without correcting the caster...
this project is most certainly not something that is going to happen overnight. first thing is someone needs to get us an arm, then we'll need someone with a stock one to stop by the shop for us to measure.

I was willing to send the arms of my LJ73 that unfortunately sold 2 weeks ago, planning on buying a KZJ73 this summer when I am in Europe but it probably won’t be here until fall of 2021.

Appreciate everything you are doing! 🙂 It was just excitement, have all time you need. 👍🤞

I just bought a KZJ71 in Seattle, am putting a 2.5” dobinsons lift on it and the castor correction bushings for now. I can stop in Boise when I bring it back from Seattle on the way to NYC if this will help move this along for everyone.
