@cruiserpatch
Hey dude , I’m interested in buying a pair . My dobisnsons torsion bars are way too stiff . What is the process for preordering?

Thank you in advance

Just check out via the website here:

27mm bars (AHC+)

28.87mm bars (OEM reproduction)

29.5mm bars (OEM+)

You're the first in line for the next batch (batch #2). I'll go ahead and get these rolling once I see your pre-order come through.

Received a pre-order for 28.87mm OEM reproduction torsion bars. @MrPoopyPants assuming that was you

10x sets are now underway with an expected arrival of late 2025, early 2026 (winter). 9x available

My man, thank you . Exited to try them out .

Sorry for being rather absent lately! Six cars plus an 8 year old plus a house plus a job plus God knows what else and I can't keep up.

I did find time to install these and replace one of my t-bar anchors which was making it hard to get the height adjustments working right.

I think these are probably right about the ideal stiffness. I do get a bit more nose lift with these vs the non-ahc bars but that's expected with the softer bars. I don't think I get enough nose lift to cause the crazy toe-in condition I had with the ahc bars which is definitely ideal.

I should be hitting some local trails this weekend that should exercise these bars and I'm excited to see how much articulation I get. Won't be able to do a direct before and after comparo but I probably have some decent pictures from a recent Moab trip I can use as a before set.

Did you take any pressure readings? How many splines did you offset?

I adjusted my pressures to around 6.5 mpa in the front.

The way I adjust tbars is to jack the truck to the height I want (roughly) then extend the adjusters til they are through the anchors but no threads beyond. Then I index the tbars to be very near the point where they take up the slack. It's a little hard to explain honestly. At that point I start screwing in the adjusters equally until the truck lifts off the jack.

Then I start measuring fenders and adjusting the tbars to get it all even. Then I use techstream to get the pressures in spec.

Kinda long winded, and I'm not even sure I answered your question!

You would want to “preload” the torsion bars by offsetting the splines. See number 20:

I plan to offset by 5 splines when I install Patch’s AHC torsion bars next weekend.
Life got in the way and getting back to this. Did you install the bars yet? Did you offset 5? Do you have a winch? Trying to gauge your weight compared to mine since I have aluminum bumpers but have a winch and we have similar sliders/roof racks but I don't have a aux gas tank or a 2nd swing out.

@trdcorolla Yes I have a 12k winch. I installed the bars and offset 5 splines. Pressure readings are at 5.8 empty which I would guess 6.5 once loaded. I can take pressure readings in the next few days with weight if needed.

Yes, the front is at 5.8 without anyone or anything dynamic in the vehicle. The front has an Ironman 4x4 bumper and a 12k Warn Winch.

The rear is at 3.6 without the third row seats, and an aftermarket under the bumper Curt hitch (~60lbs). I have steel rear bumper with swingouts but haven’t installed yet (signature updated).

I also have rock sliders and roof rack.

Here’s a pic 21” center of hub to bottom of fender and 22” in the rear. It rides so smooth and have no complaints. It feels stable and firm compared to old stock AHC torsion bars and AHC coil springs from an 06-07 LC.

Toyota/Lexus indy shop said alignment was great, a little bit more lift and would need to go with aftermarket UCA.

Installed my AHC 27mm bars yesterday. 5 spline offset is the way to go if you have bumpers/winch/belly armor at stock heights and have lots adjustment left for a sensor lift. 1 turn on each side adjusts the pressure .3 MPa. I would guess 3 or 4 offset might work if your not armored up to not have too low AHC pressure. You can immediately tell the hundy handles better with the thicker torsion bars. Thanks again @cruiserpatch

Great to hear!

I have four (4x) more pairs in stock, ready to ship as of 16.2.26. That means 16x pairs are out in the wild now.
I'm actually going to be installing a pair on my '99 LX without AHC just for science. I doubt they will hold the truck up but if they come close enough to the ride height I want, I bet they will articulate more than the 28.87mm bars...
