That is very nice! I read this thread last week and took a trip this weekend and thought about this mod every time I moved the fridge.

Sign me up for brackets too!!! :D Please

Well, I just picked up the new and improved 50 Qt ARB Freezer Fridge for my trip to Cruise Moab! I had to made some modifications to my stand, but nothing that was too difficult. The optional mounting kit is outstanding. I would recommend it to anyone purchasing one of these beasts. The one thing I really like is how sturdy the handles are on this thing compared to the previous model I had in my truck. Its a very solid unit and tons of space to pack your goods. Another cool feature is the LED light that comes on when you open the lid. Kinda slick little feature.

Looking good once again Zane. Why is it that everything you do looks so good and everything I do looks like poo? Don't answer that.

I've been checking my mailbox for almost a year now hoping those brackets would show up :meh:

This is something I really need to do... looks a lot better than when I set it on top of the folded down seat.

Well, YOU did this....

I did NOT.... I would much rather be able to say I did THAT then "hey look at my cool new fridge stand" ha.. But hey... i guess if you had a fridge stand like mine, your kids cool-aid wouldnt fly out your back window! :p

Again, looks very nice Zane. You will love the new ARB ref/freezer! I am also copying your fridge placement, just like your drawers... I am also keeping my eye out for the fridge/drop slide build in the expedition build forum.

I agree with moving the refridgerator up. After years of piling stiff on the back seat, and having to flip down the seat to get a soda on the road I just removed the rear seats all together. I first installed a carpeted 3/4" piece of plywood in place of the third row rear seats. I bolted the plywood down into the body of the truck in place of the bolts for the seat brackets. I then could mount as many tie down brackets as I needed. After doing that 4 years ago i decided to create a second platform that is removable in place of the second row, also bolted to the seat brakets with grade 8 bolts. When this is installed I can move close to 500 pounds of weight to the middle of the truck and ratchet strap them down. Now I have 7ft perfectly level sleeping platform for short trips alone or can load it up for long trips with my Maggliona tent on the roof rack. Either way you slice it, the benefits of removing the back seat are huge. The truck handles like a different truck and the rear seats are not trashed from gear in and out. when I get home i just unbolt the second platform and put back int he second row seats. I will post the pics below.

Here are more pics. In case anyone is wondering the Pelican Cases are # 1560. they stack three high behind the second row seats and two deep for a total of 6 cases, or as I have them pictured with the heavy ones up front, and the light ones used for cooking and camping in the back.

The cap in front of the Engel refridgerator is for the water bladder sold by Slee. I now can store 10 gallons in that bladder under the platform behind the seat and fill it through the cap. Also the PulPal anchor fits perfectly between the wheel wells and protects the plug and vents on the back of the refrigerator.
