I'm sure its a movie trick/optical illusion and you didn't park that close to an open flame given your current fuel tank arrangement.
Sneaky are you saying it's some backyardish, jury-rigged arrangement?

So, in Australia if we want to make vehicle modifications we had to take said modifications to a vehicle modification guru who then deems them fit for consumption and adds a plate to the vehicle ID'ing those suckers. The guru deemed my mods 90% good. Just needed to make a few amendments, one of which was installing an actual fuel tank and routing the fuel line a bit better. Got my tank back from the radiator shop all cleaned up like and sealed. If a two hour job didn't take four. But it's in, the new sender is in, the ground is in, the gauge works, the line is rerouted and three new filters are installed #doyouevenfilterbro. Sorry, am I sitting in the cab and not smelling fuel? Also installed the jack and handles thanks to @catskinner in the clamp thanks to @sneaky. Got a bulb in the charge light and zip tied some s***e that needed zip-tying. That's pretty much it. Running out of things to do.

And probably the most important addition to my life, from @84TROOPY - 14 Management Principles From The World's Greatest Manufacturer. A book every actor needs.

That last post was the 22.08, so it's been a while since I landed. Sydney is great - I love it here. NO ONE drives old cars let alone 45's, so I'm king of the road. The only decent cars I've seen have been a '71 XY GT [above] and a '63 [?] LHD yank Falcon ute, which is pretty rare in my book. The HO variant of the XY GT was the world's fastest four-door production car when released in 1971 and virtually spelled the death of our muscle car industry. The Falcon ute was baby blue with US Racer 1st Gen D-spokes and some kind of Windsor [was passing by at a decent pace].

The 45 loves it. It's significantly cooler here, so it runs at 170F, even 160F some days, which may even be too cool, but it seems to run just fine. I don't drive during peak hour, it's just too hectic, but no doubt I'll have to soon, maybe it'll run warmer then. Parking isn't really an issue despite no power steer, no doubt helped by the 45psi I run in the fronts. Other than that I just cruise and it gets me where I need. Not a single issue either on the drive down nor since I've landed. On the advice of a wiser, better looking 45 owner I ran diesel oil on the trip down for it's cleaning properties as the PO of the V8 hadn't changed the oil in a long time and the engine was sludgy as s***. It's probably 1000mi. on that oil now so in a few weeks I'll change it out for some decent petrol oil and a new filter.

Previously, I'd had an issue with the R/T being canted forward. The result was the rear of the window frames hitting the rear upper cab and an air gap between the leading edge of the window frames and the windscreen panel. Well today, thanks to ratchet straps, a 4" grinder and a set of shiny Sidchromes I sorted that. I essentially opened the doors, hooked a ratchet strap as high up as I could on the rear upper cab panel to the rear of the tray, loosened all the R/T bolts and cranked back until it was further back than it should have been, knowing it would spring back once released. I undid the twist knobs holding the windscreen down and pulled the cad plated sleeve located inside. Ground down probably a mm off each side before reinstalling. I then torqued up all the R/T bolts and tightened the J-clamps and basically tightened up the whole show. Then released the ratchet straps. Judging by the pictures it worked, as both the gap at the rear of the window frame is now parallel and the gap at the front of it is now closed. Mostly. As you can see the the roof still kicks up at the front so who effing knows haha. Anyway, back to The Grind! 45 life for life!

Thanks Ben. No garage as of yet. My rust repairs are being put to the test, especially my rear windscreen panel. Will be another 'fix' in the coming months I'd say.

Was on set this week for a major TV Network, playing the lead investigator for this case: David and Catherine Birnie - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. First at Parramatta Gaol, then at a private residence in Blacktown. Det. Paul Ferguson championed the case and ultimately extracted a confession out of David Birnie. He's apparently a kind, patient man who still struggles to discuss the case. The best part was this XF Falcon [1985/6], which was both the unmarked car and the marked car once fitted with lights and sirens. It was so 80's!! The director loved the 45 so much he ended up slipping it in a few shots.

Then I took my girl up to the Blue Mountains. Wow. Beautiful. It's very European territory, lots of pine, lots of lush forest as opposed to the standard dry Aussie bush and it's cold AF. The 45 ran like a champ, and despite being a high-end litigator she loved every minute of that trip. Took a few snaps whilst I was there and made up this faux advertisement. Thinking I might make this a theme.

Parramatta Gaol.

Hahaha yeah took hours.

I went to school with one of the Victims. Mary Neilson.
Nasty pieces of work the Birnies!
Yeah just terrible humans. David 'committed suicide' the night before he was due to appear in court for more deviant behaviour whilst in prison.

G'day Cult, Bugger, talking trucks man. I want to know about the girl. Was it just that same old story. Struggling actor, drives old truck from Queensland to Sydney, meets hot corporate lawyer, drives hot corporate lawyer around in old truck, hot corporate lawyer suddenly feels 'grounded' with down to earth actor bloke. Hot lawyer falls in love with old truck and struggling actor. Great work.

Cheers, Ben

P.S., Perhaps not so struggling actor anymore.
