We learned those X-Jacks don't really work on our trucks due to the superb suspension (or at least we weren't successful after way too much effort). Supposedly work great on heeps, though!

Fantastic.

They do work great on stranded Subaru WRXs though.

As opposed to a parking lot/asphalt situation, I wonder if they would be better in a situation like sand or mud, where it would be difficult to use a standard jack.

Yep, exactly. No explosion but we were all startled. Jackson's flash went off at the exact same moment, adding to the "explosion." Yes all the Toyota jacks I have seen are either 1.5" or 2" post size and we carry both. No more risk of sliding off with use of a jack adapter.
