After multiple faceplants we ended up with a load.

Annual bald eagle event set for Flagstaff

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Did you know that Arizona is visited by over 200 bald eagles during the winter? You'll see live eagles and learn more about these amazing birds at the 4th Annual Bald Eagle Celebration on Saturday, Jan. 31. The event takes place at the Willow Bend Environmental Educational Center, 703 E. Sawmill Road in Flagstaff.


The Bald Eagle Celebration is hosted by the Arizona Game and Fish Department and Willow Bend Environmental Education Center. Along with the opportunity to see bald eagles up close and talk with dedicated individuals from Liberty Wildlife Rehabilitation Foundation, several other programs are being offered:

• “Early Birds” Program 7:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. Join Game and Fish staff for an early morning field trip searching for wild bald eagles, followed by a presentation at the Willow Bend Center. Participants will meet at the Game and Fish Flagstaff office at 3500 S. Lake Mary Road, weather permitting.

• “Eaglets” Family Program 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. A family focused program suitable for families with children ages 4 and up. Meet at Willow Bend.

• “Fully Fledged” Program Noon – 1 p.m. Learn about the amazing bald eagle in this presentation which is geared for all audiences. Game and Fish biologists will talk about bald eagle conservation and management in Arizona. Meet at Willow Bend.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Game and Fish again this year. This is a great event for everyone,” says Cassandra Roberts, program manager at Willow Bend.


The primary goal of the workshop is educate people about eagles in Arizona, but also to show the importance of wildlife management and the cooperation involved.


For those going on the early bird field trip, remember to dress appropriately for weather conditions, and bring binoculars and bird field guidebooks.


The event is free, but an optional $5 donation is appreciated to help cover costs. To register for one of the programs offered or for more information, visit www.willowbendcenter.org.

So bizarre, I had to take pictures. Had $1.00 gas credit at Frys and it was $1.85 so paid only .85 cents per gallon. The gallon amount was higher than the dollar amount - holy !

Last night she said, give me 10 hard inches and leave me breathless.

So it snowed all night and half this morning with the temperature showing minus 17F with wind chill.


Mother Nature is a mean woman when she wants to be. I'm actually looking forward to warmer weather in Kalispell, MT in the lower 48 this weekend.

Snow wheeling with 5 million Canadians is not a fun time.

Strange day, wind blew us off the farm, almost go into a header with a Deuce and a half, and had to stand for 30 minutes at the local Case parts counter while the manager had an extremely heated argument with 3 women from Sonora about the Caja (return box for the core was all I could pick up).
