great job for the vehicle; wish it came from the factory like that!! How is the drive and any thoughts on the sway motion or how is the braking with the bigger wheels and tires?? I guess you didn't have the vehicle that long before the mods so it may be hard to judge before and after etc. looks great is your turning circle much bigger also if you have time can you do a height measurement of the total vehicle from ground to top of roof rack?? does your still fit in garage?

he is a pic of the part number for the winch mount from factory; have not fund anyone in usa that will order it yet.

I wish it came factory like that too. You're right, I only had it stock for a week so it wouldn't be fair to compare. I can say, however, that I like the ride better now. It's not as bouncy on the freeway. The stock ride reminded me of an 80s Cadillac. Now it's not as stiff as my 4Runner was, but not floaty either. As far as the turning radius is concerned, I don't recall the stock. I haven't had any issues though. Did a U-turn today without thinking anything of it. I do have to take it back for a little more trim because I heard a rub at full lock during the said U-turn. I'll try to measure later. Not at home now. Haven't tried parking in the garage because it's home to this:

I haven't noticed any. I'll let you know if anything develops.

Here are my top three reasons why I'm thrilled with the switch to the LC:

1. No more listening to the kids fighting with the third row.
2. Hand calculated 20.16 mpg hwy after lift and tires! (beats the best I got in the 4Runner trail by over 3 mpg)
3. King of the road!!!

Very nice truck my man - but there is no way this beast is beating (or even coming close to) the MPG of the 4runner. Your sample is way to small, run 5 - 10 tanks through and then report you mpg.

You have a great truck!

oh forgot to add this if you do find someone that will order that toyota part for the front winch maybe others will go in and you can do a group buy to help the dealership with the shipping cost??? not sure but keep us in mind if you do find someone.

Thank you! I totally agree about the small sample size. I was just sharing my thoughts after the first road trip. One of my fears was that I would need two tanks of gas to get there and back. I was pleasantly surprised, even shocked, when the computer said 19.6 mpgs since refueling. That's why I did the "hand calculation" to verify. I'm sure under everyday driving conditions (commuting to work 100% city) that number will plummet.

I had the 4Runner for 18 months. The best I ever calculated was 16.67 mpgs, and when I sold it my average on the computer was 15.2, which I think was the average for the entire 10,500 miles I put on it. That 15.2 was achieved after two lengthy road trips this summer. Prior to that, the average showed 14. That thing was stock except for BFG All-terrains and sliders. You can see it in the first post on this thread. It definitely struggled at times. They dropped the ball by not offering an 8 cylinder option.

yah not sure why Toyota dropped the V8 in the 4Runner, guess they just assumed the more powerful V6 was good enough, but still kept the V8 in the Lexus version... The computer that caculates the average MPG's in our 200 series LC's is gonna be off once you change the tire size on your rig, funny thing is from my understand it should actually throw it off in the other direction, meaning your actualy mileage would be better than what it is reading? As far as your LC getting better mileage than your new Cruiser I believe it, I've seen studies that showed a V8 engine getting better mileage than an overworked V6 engine...

Maybe that's why I calculated 0.5 better mpg than the computer? It's not accounting for greater tire size.

If you increase wheel/tire diameter then the actual distance traveled goes up. But you will not be able to witness it on the odometer. A GPS will tell you though. So you need to multiply the odometer mileage by the 1.x where x is the percentage that the wheel/tire has grown. This will increase your MPG versus what your original calculation concluded.

I measured a hair under 6'7" to the top of the factory roof rack.

There is no Lexus 4runner. They have a GX model that is the Land Cruiser Prado. Which truck are you talking about?

yah, they are all based on the prado, 4Runner, GX, even the fjCRuiser can be thrown in there....

I guess the Tacoma gets into that mix as well

I think the Tacoma is on a different platform than the other 3, but I could be wrong...

20mpg!? Hahhaaahah I wish
I just cleaned all my intakes and maf sensor and I'm just barely hitting 10mpg combined highway city. City only I can't get better than 30liters/100kms.about about 7-8mpg on 98octane.

Installed bug shield today:

I was afraid of it being a moisture trap, but it's a pretty good design:

Not bad at all!

I know what you mean. I have clear OEM headlight protectors and they seem to accumulate enough dirt, pine needles, and bugs to grow a small garden.

No problem - you got me curious as well - it's a good piece of information for me to know.
