We are on day 3 of our adeventure, having an epic time, currently camping at valley of the gods in monument valley, heading into canyonlands tomorrow. We got caught in a gnarly snow storm first night above mesquite. Went to toroweap yesterday which was cool. I started feeling squirmy in my 77 on the highway driving here. Found the drag link super loose. Messaged cruiser outfitters, hopefully they can bring one to Moab. Otherwise it will be fun 1000 drive home. Don’t know if other models cross over, if anyone has one that looks the same please bring it.

What year/model? The 90+ 77 in the pic? I'll get a kit there! I've got one in my spares bag too.

@cruiseroutfit Perfect, thanks so much, its a 91 77 series. I should be in town Tuesday/weds, we are coming in via elephant hill, what’s the best way to get a hold of you? I sent an email as well with my inreach link.

We were thinking of you all last night. We stayed at the Virgin River Casino to stock up on 2nd hand smoke and commune with the people-of-walmart/barely-clinging-to-life crowd. We are at the air B nB. It's I bit off the beaten path, 331 Abbey place but if you need a place to wrench I brought my usaal collection of tools and am down to help.

I'm leaving Tuesday but won't get to Moab until Thursday afternoon (San Rafael Swell Overnighter). I have a kit with me and the guys coming down Thursday for vendor night will have one too. Will Thursday work?

Sorry to laugh, but we have so done that whole 2nd hand smoke thing in Nevada casino hotels when just needing a place to sleep on the way through... ugh... Man do my kids have a strong dislike for anything in Nevada now...

For all that are in town tomorrow, open invitation to bbq at our place tomorrow night, 331 Abbey. Text and we can work out particulars.

Wow, what an amazing week. I have a huge number of pictures to upload and paste which will take some time. However, I wanted to extend thanks to Nick, Brian, Scott and Nick's dad for joining us Wednesday for a bbq at our place. Jeff and Kristian saved the day at Vendor night when our run was late getting back.

Monday we mountain biked around the Bar M trail system which ranges in difficulty and has something for everyone.

Tuesday we did river rafting. Our guide Luck was fantastic and all had a blast.

Wednesday we split up. Daniel and I road up Klondike Bluff to the border of Arches National Park and then hiked to the edge of the bluff. The view was mind blowing. Then, we drove into Arches and hiked to Delicate Arch. So much life was squeezed into one day.

Thursday we ran Gold Bar Rim and then onto Vendor Night.

I had to skip Friday's run due to transmission problems but fortunately was able to diagnose and implement a fix that got me home. Tim has some stories from the Flat Iron Mesa run. We had dinner at the event and enjoyed the raffle.

Saturday we departed and again communed with the people of Walmart / those barely clinging to life. The kids got to jump in the pool and the adults got to do a little adulting after dinner.

Today we made the rest of the trek home.

One major takeaway, if not going to make the whole drive in one day, don't stop in Mesquite. It's expensive and the smoke is unreal. If heading there, push through to St. George. Heading back, push to Vegas or even Primm so you miss Vegas traffic.

That's not ideal.

Ooo.... Ouch!
Well there's a reminder to us all to keep those steering knuckle arm stud nuts tight!
Did yours shear off?
I think I'll crawl under there and tighten mine up right now! 71 Ft-lbs coming up!

And equally important carry spares. I've been packing spares for a few decades, I bet I give away 2-3 sets a year to folks I meet on the trail suffering this fate

Next would be spare semi-float shafts. Every year at Cruise Moab a few get wiped. This year was no different, 2 LH 6x shafts and a LH 200 semi-float shaft.

@cruiseroutfit we need to have a way to teleport parts from your shop to the event for occasions like this!

We had nearly daily parts headed to Moab. LH 6x Rear SF shaft, U-Bolts, 7x drag-link end, FZJ80 Alternator and then all the stuff we sold at the vendor show including birfs, shafts, u-joints and hubs. :D
