I'm out right now if anybody thought I'd be able to head into TX - I am having a few too many issues with my "shake-down" earliest for me to even consider is first of April. Just being overt.

April is closer than we think. Hopefully we'll get it moving. Baby steps.... You don't have to take it far folks, just get it moving.

It would really be helpful if we had a map of the proposed route(like the original)--it gives all folks a timing line and ability to make decisions on whether they can make the trek to the pass-on point, or not. With this, we all can make some hard commitments as to meet-up points and dates--Most of us(actually all of us)--can't commit to pass-along points/times/areas, unless we have prior knowledge of where the baton is going--some want it to go East, some want it to go the Prairies, some want it to go to the N.E.--without any agreeable routes, no one can prep, and the effort will not accomplish the desired objective---Which is---what?
Hecrod's journey was loaded with pics and narratives of his travels--that's what made it so unique--and what inspired the first rally-to further the span of the US to see-(for all), the rich heritage we have from the perspective of LC enthusiasts.
Maybe we need a vote-Moderators moderating- to help finalize a proposed route for this--

I have seen very few pictures and naratives of where or how this new baton ever got to Plano,Tx. where it supposedly resides now---(one of the oft comments here on MUD is"without pictures, it didn't happen")
Please offer suggestions as to how we all could get this on a firm track---
Make sure to look at the first rally routes and Hecrod's travel blog

Actually it's been a pretty organic process with people stepping in to move in along. I drove it to Cape Flattery for the northwest corner and passed it on to Alex who took it to Kurt at the museum and he took it to the Baja (second corner) and passed it off to be taken towards the east coast and one of the other corners. It's in Plano waiting for a ride. Very simple and pictures of each step. Not as complex as the first one but moving along. Just hoping for a ride.....

There is a map somewhere that I traced my route on and mailed to Alex. Kurt was going to do the same but don't know where it is.

Just a thought here..
Lonestar Toyota Roundup is next month. Maybe reach out to Lonestar LandCruiser's DFW chapter and see if anyone will be attending. Possibly get it moving east with one of the attendees?
I know of 2 guys coming from Alabama that could pass it along. Only drawback is it may be in a 60.

Exactly my point--where's the map?
If more folks want to participate, they need routes / timelines /coordination--so they know where to be when--

Did you ever get the map from Alan?

I did and I need to hurry and get it marked for our Baja trip and mail it to Will C in Texas. I'm the slacker!

Well how's the progress on the map? Share a picture of it if you still have it ya slacker.....:rimshot:

I've been busy seeing all sorts of cruiser porn in New Zealand. Should have taken the case....

Well, I thought that this thing might have grown legs by now but I guess if I can get the case and stickers back I'll pay the freight. Hoped to have it to Key West by now, how hard can it be? Thanks for the support by the folks that did participate. Maybe I can get something better laid out.

Where is it in TX?

@POTATO LAUNCHER would be cool to have it join the TX convoy to SAS then head to East coast after that.

Plano area, it's with a Toyota employee/Cruiserhead. I was hoping to get it to Jamboree from there but he didn't make it.

If we can get it back to my place again I'd gladly take back to SAS for round 3. Or I could have it brought here this Saturday and I can haul it to Classic Cruisers again.

Cool, let me work that out. Worst case I’m headed back to Plano in two weeks and could retrieve it personally and get it rolling again!

Grabbing it @ Toyota HQ in Plano! I’ll update the map, sticker count and get it moving!

Box in hand from Toyota HQ where it rested for waaaay too long. The gent that I had hoped would be able to snag it from Will here in TX and carry it east, came thru earlier than planned and we didn’t have time to arrange a meet up. It then sat in Texas (100% my fault) so I made a special trip here to grab it :D OK, full disclosure I’m here on business but I made a point to get it on the move.

Will brought some cool Land Cruiser swag back from Japan, some of which I snuck into the case. It’s loaded full of stickers, some $$, the map & Cruiser trinkets. I’ll get it back to SLC, the wrong direction BUT a new route it’s not yet done. It will arrive with me on Thursday.

So, where next? Anyone coming through SLC? @Branwillith anyone coming to the 70 Series Run that can ferry it further east?
