I forgot to post this on this thread from Oct. 15th.
Yesterday drove up to Crater Lake to see the Ring of Fire eclipse. Really a lot of clouds so we were not sure if it’d even be seen at all.

The window for the eclipse was a small window at just under 4 minutes and 30 seconds. But as the moment drew near a gap in the clouds developed and the eclipse appeared.

Camped out at the Crater Lake property. Was a great weekend with my son and buddy. Made breakfast sandwiches over the coals and then went shooting.

That's a heck of a nice looking barn! Mind sharing the dimension details? Maybe a few pics of the frame work from inside?

Life’s been so busy and can’t believe how fast the year has gone by. I totally forgot to post these from our trip at the end of March.

I absolutely love Aspen trees.

I planted one out here in Pennsylvania about twenty-five years ago because I always liked them. It's done well up until a year or two ago when it started dying. They say they may only live five to fifteen years outside their native habitat, so I guess mine did better than most.

Damn, NICE!

Headed to the property for solo trip to decompress from life. 5 day get away. Went fishing at Miller Lake 25 miles from the property. This lake is known to produce state record German Brown Trout that feed on the abundant Kokanee which is a landlocked Sockeye Salmon. You find the Kokanee schools and chances are you’ll find a German Brown. Fished all day. Caught a nice Kokanee and then fly fished the shore for Rainbow trout.

Mt. Thielsen the Lightning Rod of the Cascades. 9,184’ Summit I plan on a summit trip on of these times.
With the full moon the Browns have been feeding at night in the lakes abundant Kokanee. This lake is open 24 hours for fishing. May need to do a night fishing trip.

Catch Huge Brown Trout at Miller Lake, Oregon

Miller Lake, in many serious brown trout anglers' minds, is a good bet to produce a new state record brown trout.

A peaceful experience like no other. In the hour I watched only a handful of vehicles passed by. The sound of birds and wind was rest for the soul.

Saturday decided to hike Yamsey Mountain 8,196’ summit. The drive was 35 miles from the Crater Lake property on the east side of the Klamath Marsh. There once was a fire Lookout tower on the summit but has been removed😫. The road used to go to the summit but the Forest Service closed the last 3.5 miles with 1600’ elevation gain. The road is being overgrown to the trailhead.

This is what I really love about the Speedhut gauges is it has an altimeter. The elevation at the trailhead, 6663’ and the summit of Yamsey Mountain is 8,196’.

Yamsey Mountain is the mountain I’d just summited behind the 60.
