I love North Carolina but every time I go @Papalud big shots me a tells me the areas I go to suck and Linville this. Linville that.

Well I took him up on his dare and sure enough he was correct.

Thanks for the backroad camping tips and the longest 1 mile uphill trail on earth.

Linville Gorge has been on my list for a while.

I have a new appreciation for Arkansas over the last few years, but there's just something about east Tennessee and western/central North Carolina! I think the differences in vegetation adds to it for me.......

And I have to agree with @Papalud, that area up and past Blowing Rock and Boone is some of the best in the smokies......
