That was in the plan but we got a bit distracted and had to scoot to miss Atlanta traffic. We’ll be back. BTW, the lodge at Desoto State Park was wonderful too.
We also stopped at the Ocmulgee Indian Mound site right outside of Macon for a couple of hours. Very interesting.
We then motored on over to Statesboro to this cool little hunting lodge we found on the internet while looking for something other than another box on the side of the interstate to stay in. Red Fern Quail Lodge. We called and they opened up just for us. How cool is that. Really nice and very friendly. We literally have the place to ourselves! I’ll post a pic if I’m up after midnight. Don’t want to bring the wrath of the Rock Midget down on me...
