You just need to hard wire a 12v into the battery. In rear. Run a wire with an in line fuse.

One battery as much as we will be moving will be fine. Jump pack does not run fridge. It cracks car after fridge kills battery.

That would require me breaking into the body molding of the car and routing wire through the firewall. UGH. I am thinking that these batteries can do the job. Not 100 sure however.



This is the one I purchased. It has a 12v out up to 6amps. that would run the fridge.

Oh, on the screen deal... just go to some place like Walmart and buy some mosquito netting material. Cut it larger than the door opening and just close it in the door. Works for me just fine.

Temporary/quick fix would be to piggy back a key-off powered accessory in vehicle. But, I'd opt for Nolen's plan and just go ahead and wire a 12v socket straight to the battery. If you don't want to pull body panels out, run your 4/6ga wires under the body/along frame and pop up through one of the many rubber grommets in the floor pan (probably one near the back corners under the taillight assemblies)

My experience was that using one of the factory ports didn't work very well. I don't think the wire size supports an ARB well. Run a 4-6 ga wire and make SURE your ground in good. This sorted out my problems on the 80.

That's what I did. Along the frame then up into the area where the Jack is.

If it's a genuine ARB fridge then I say spend the $43 and get the ARB "hard wire" install kit. Comes with 20' of cable, pre-fused and the threaded socket. Damn near plug n play.

Also, consider the below option for a dual battery set-up. I ran 2 battery set-up with ACR switch/relay in my boats. I liked that you could combine the batteries for starting juice when needed and that the house battery could be isolated so you wouldn't run down your starter on the electronics.

Understood, but for what it's worth, the second battery in that set-up I posted was in the rear of the car, not under the hood. You do still have to run thick cable from the front batt to the rear battery. I know you are not down with that, so just clarifying in the unlikely event that makes a difference to you.

I agree. I have this in the TundrA and Kermit. Easy peasy to install.

It sold out and I got one before the deal ended.

The Big Bend trip is on full go. We are taking some of the logistics and planning to a group text. Right now it is Me, Mardis, Andy and Run PMc. If anyone is lurking out there and wants to go, please us know.

The campsites in Big Bend and BB State Park are 2-3 vehicles max. The ones I have asked my Ranger buddy to look into for me have two sites close together. Pine Canyon night one and Loop Camp for night 2.

We are then moving out to Big Bend State Park for 2 nights. Camping on the edge of Solidario one night or maybe both. Dunno. Tons of trails there.

Let me know if you want to go. It will be a lot of driving but you will see some of the best of this country.
