David. As for the Nov 14 weekend, I am meeting Blaylock for lunch Nov 12 in Tupelo and our current plan is to head to Sipsey from there. He has to split Friday but Run PMc is headed up Friday.

I'm hoping to stay in Alabama this trip. Little River and Sipsey area.

Avg temps this during mid Nov are 60's day and 40 or 30's at night.
I have a 20F sleeping bag and will probably sleep inside the 100.
How is everyone planning to sleep? motel or tent/car camp?

I'm probably going to head out on Wed. the 11th-13th. Got to be in Louisiana the night of the 13th. Anyone heard of the Gana Trail in Clay County? Bottom of Talladega Forrest
Worth seeing over there is Cheaha Mountain, the highest point in the state.
Other than that I got nothing but I am part of a network of AL overlanding guys where I can tap into and ask questions.

Rick, what an AWESOME resource that is! Thanks very much! In fact, a lot of the traverse is in the area of where I envisioned going on our "overland" (with Highlands, NC being about as far north/east as I envisioned going)
Just keep me in the loop as y'all get closer to GA. I'll spend a Fri or Sat night up there.

Guys, I got totally whip-sawed on this N Alabama deal. When you have like 90 kids, you sometimes forget their birthdays and stuff. Turns out my youngest daughter turns 5 that weekend and my wife informed me last night that the birthday party was already planned. To her credit, she thought she was doing me a solid because it's a non-football weekend, which is part of the reason I lost the argument on moving it. Hope ya'll have a big time. I'm bummed. At least I have Big Bend to look forward to. I gave her the dates last night and told her that trip was non-negotiable.

Since @Papalud can only do on night and Run PMc is out and @dnp has no real job or any kids to juggle let's just push this up a week to Nov 7th weekend
Suits me fine. Weather will still be nice, and some of the fall foliage might still be around.

Awesome! Did that date sneak up on you? I always thought those were static dates, but apparently these days, they're dynamic! HA!

Ron can do Friday night and needs to be back Saturday night.

I can do either. I will sell my Arkansas tickets and fund this thing :D

I will likely yank the kids out of school on Friday and make this a heavy trip. Lets keep it Little River/Sipsey area so we are not driving a million miles for a short weekend.

Thoughts? Opine.......
