I thought you were bringing the 40? Overnight in a 40 with 3 adults?.

40 with 2 adults...... dad could catch a ride in a wagon or ash....

Heck I'm good with riding in a wagon:D

I'm in for the overnight.
I plan on my rig to be on the trailer by 4 on Friday and heading down 191 toward he O73 by 5.

I sure hope it is not a problem to get permits. I will let you guys know as soon as I find out something.

Clutchee, just plan that way ahead. Since we are going to be going overnight, folks need to know if they need to make room for another body. I am thinking about all the solo riders now and I am certain there will be room.

Are we tent camping on the overnight, or stringing hammocks between trucks?

Just curious...on the overnight run?
1. Are you saying it is not for 40's? We can handle the heat and fuel...the dusty part is what gets me.

2. Any idea if how much fuel we need?

......had more, but can't think of them right now.

Jrob, I think dust could be an issue. I know though that a 40 with the windshield on does a good job of keeping the dust out of your eyes on long gravel roads but 70 miles may get a big taxing. We need to plan on making sure Stacy has a seat in the a/c if it gets bad. I am not sure we will have any way of knowing until we get there. Rain squalls often hit the area and dust could be fine.

Not sure, most 40's, even modified will go 150 miles. Figure 10 MPG. I bet yours does better than most.

It all might be moot if we can't get the permits. It won't make/break our trip if the overnight does not work out I assure you.

I was put in charge of this trip by the highly esteemed board of directors. Love it or leave it, it is your call.

EDIT, also remember, when I am answering your questions or addressing concerns such as space requirement and other future issues that will come up in this thread, my answers may be directed at the group as much as the person that posted the question.

The 40's can do something different that day if yall want. Makes no diference to me. My 40 get's great gas mileage for some reason. Only burned a half a tank on our FS trip.

I am just trying to get all the information out so you guys know what you are getting into. I don't think there is any issue with taking a 40, hell even if you got 3 MPG, you can take extra fuel.

with all these gas cans for sure!

I have an extra spot for a swing-out on my Kaymar if Lenny wants to build me a Sceptor rack for it, I will haul fuel. :D :D

I don't see fuel being that much of an issue. Maybe an extra 5 gallons for those rigs that are extra "thirsty"

I was just checking/wondering. Just trying to........

Hell has anyone played football....

My 5 P's stand for something else... Can't say those here.

I would buy that shirt! :grinpimp:

Awesome.

I am in for whatever.

Sheila may not be.

Scary sections of Moab rim have enough room for passengers to walk that section of the trail ? Sheila is not too crazy about heights. She and kids would end up
Waking that section.

Yeah, you can walk it. It is a good initiation to Moab. Not stupid scary, but scary.

The trail ledge is very wide there but the trail itself goes real close to the edge in places.

I look my 100 up it last trip and made it just fine.
