Your transmission temp and EGT gauge just tweeted "pls dn't go this way, ok?"

That would be a workout for it that's for sure.

I am willing to risk complete tranny failure to stay out of nw Texas

I won't be in a hurry to come home anyway.

I don't know if driving the 80 out there would save that much fuel ( I'm at 11-12 mpg) anyway.
If it doesn't save me on fuel cost, then I would rather tow it and wheel it a little harder..:hhmm:

It's an Allison tranny....it will laugh.

It can handle it for sure but why push it? Unless of course NW Texas makes you want to kick a puppy.

I literally never consider the tranny on my Chevy trucks. It has a temp gauge and no matter how hard I have pushed them I have never even see the gauge move.

EGTs....I don't run a tuner so I don't consider those either. I will let it idle a bit if I have really, really been working it before I cut it off.

I used to have an Edge with attitude on my 03 Duramax and from watching those EGTs, it would get to idle temperature during most off ramps.

No offense, which literally means "I'm about to offend you," but I wouldn't have pegged you as a guy that knew to do that.

The little bit of OTR trucking experience I have makes me avoid hills like the plague while towing. Of course, I was shifting manually and my bonuses depended on my fuel economy, not my quality of life.

Lenny is right, NW Texas blows.

How about I sell all this s*** and take up sailing on the Res. :D

I think you would look cute in one of them sailor hats.

I hope you own a producing oil well. Crude at $98 a barrel and rising as we speak. Gas forecast is $4-5 a gallon by Summer if the Libya politics don't get straight and since the dumbasses in Washington - on both sides of the aisle - totally abandoned the "drill here, drill now" sentiment of the nation, now that it's no longer politically-expedient! That said, if you do go, come through Austin and I'll buy you a pint or three.
Fixed it

If gas ends up at $5 a gallon I may be driving the 100 out there just to "save" fuel. Crazy times. Not likely, but an option for sure.
May be the way I'm gonna have to go.

What about you all buying couple of barrels of diezel now and hedge your bets.....
May not be a bad option!

WHY? does the Lone Star state "northwest territories" have outstanding warrants on ya

Ya'll can all kiss my ass! Coming through North Texas should be high on your priorites! You get to see me that way! OK, I meanyou get to see Ardenne. Seriously, if ya'll come through here we'll all go eat at a little BBQ joint I know.

There needs to be a lot of nudity for me to be enticed ; )

Nudity of the female persuasion to be clear. Even then I would still take another route. That's pretty bad huh ; )
