We stayed at the Grand Imperial. The whole town is hard-core, no-frill. 100% opposite from Telluride or Aspen or any trendy spot.

The Grand Imperial Hotel - Silverton Colorado's finest Victorian Accommodations

You will be in good hands with Gary in town. He can steer you to all the good stuff. He goes every year to the same spot.

I REALLY want you guys to go so you can help me sell it to the club for our 2012 summer trip :D

I already started on the colorado 2012 sales pitch...

Will there be a diving board at the KOA camp ground?

You are banned from diving boards everywhere! Especially if it requires Lenny to take Mace to the Face!

Love the Breakfast Club parody. Brilliant.

Weather looks WAY better than here.

Moab huh.. :)

Weather looks great and remember shade works in the desert. Temp
Will drop like 15 degrees in the shade. Find it or create
It (ragtop).

I hear its a dry heat.

Now Lash, (in my best redneck) I done been in 130 degrees of that so called dry heat. It's still a hot SOB!

It was 110 degrees in august when we were there in '07. It was hot now but it felt more like 95-100. If it was humid there is no way we could have wheeled sun up to sundown like we did. Water and Gatorade are your friends. Water being the more important of the two.

if you are starting to get a headache amp up the water and gatorade intake.

dont wait till you start getting a headache to start drinking.. water that is ; )

You are supposed to take in half your body weight in ounces in water, not including exercise, heat.

I weigh 175 lbs

175 divided by 2 is 87.5. So i would need 87.5 ounces per day of water (preferably).

thats about 11 eight ounce glasses .

That is an adequate amount. Nice benefit to drinking this much water is that you will hardly ever get sick.

Bring it and the boys and MOST especially Annie.

The water misters work great in the desert. Lots of beach places actually have water bottles with fans and squirt misters. Those are awesome in the dry heat.

Beer is not water......ask Dusty about getting dehydrated in Moab after pulling a beer bender. I had to tackle the delusional redneck and force water into him......

Good info Lenny, but there's just one problem...

If you weigh 175, then I'm at least 220!
